Seat Room Help Please?

I would be one of CP's guests of "exceptional size" and I was just wondering about the seating on Maverick. Yes, I know they have the test seat, but that is always so embarrassing, especially for a female. Anyway, I can ride Raptor and Wicked Twister, but do not fit on Millennium Force/TTD. How would you say the seats on Maverick compare to any of these? Does maverick only have a shoulder harness, or is there a lap bar/seatbelt also? Thanks.

Maverick's seats are very roomie. I don't know how you measure, but you probably won't have a problem if you fit on WT or Raptor.

I fit on all of these, but it is a real struggle on MF or TTD. I have to have my husband buckle me in on those 2 because I am busty and cannot see the buckle too well because of my chest.

If you can fit in WT or Raptor you should fit in although I really shouldn't be talking about size since I am the opposite I am small and fit on many of the rides to the point that sometimes the harness is past all of the clicks.

Of the rides that are restrictive, Maverick is the most accommodating. I would say that even those who are unable to ride Raptor or Wicked Twister still have a shot with Maverick.

Yeah, I agree. I don't classify Raptor the same as WT, because I think Raptor is much roomier, but if you can ride WT, I don't think you'll have a problem on Maverick.

I can't imagine you having a problem. My friend could not ride MF, TTD, or WT, and was tight on Raptor, but he had no problem with Maverick.

OK I am replying to my own post here. I rode Maverick - yeah! However, one thing I noticed is that I sat in the test seat out front, with PLENTY of room to spare (Had quite a bit of slack.) However, on the actual train, I had issues. I basically had to suck in my stomach and let out my breath (Ok, maybe not that far - LOL) to get on the ride. It was a far cry from the well roomy tester seat up front. Maybe it was just that one seat, as I have heard this problem on Millenium force (different seats having different length seatbelts.)

Why do they need over 1" of slack? I can understand wanting extra belt, so that you are not putting undue tension on the belt, but over an inch? (Maybe this was my problem, maybe the worker up on the train didn't know how to measure! LOL) I definately had way more than an inch slack on the tester seat though.

I weigh 240lbs and I didn't have any prob.on the Maverick I had lots of room. The only ride I can't get on is the MF.

There should be no need to measure for the 1" slack on Maverick. There is yellow stitching across the belt at the 1" mark.

I've never noticed a difference in the seats as far as fitting either.

I hate to say it but the yellow line only tell you if you are close to the guideline. Maverick seems to have a computer sensor to tell if the restraint is down far enough. When me and my brother rode one time, his yellow line was just showing but the restraint needed to be lowered a little bit more before the train would go.

The seats on Maverick are plenty big. But on August 24th when I rode it 3 times, 2 times back to back in the front row I got a bruise on my leg because while your riding the G-force pushes the restraint down on your legs and it squeezes you in your seat! Other than that they are very comfortable and plenty big.

Hehe...people go on diets for roller coasters.

Hey if you go to CP enough....with all the walking you do...by the end of a season you could blow away in the wind with the rest of us.

There is more than just the seatbelt requirement on Maverick. Please remember that the lap bar MUST touch the muscular part of your thighs! It can't be resting on your stomach or a few inches above your thighs, it MUST touch your thighs in order for us to send your train, and even then, that's only if the sensor says your restraint is down far enough.

It's really only embarrassing if someone makes a scene out of the test seat. Just calmly go up to the seat, try it out. If you don't fit don't look upset, just walk away quietly. You really only have a few strangers watching to begin with who should be ashamed to think differently if you if you cant fit. With that said, Maverick offers some of the roomiest trains in Cedar Point. It really only becomes a problem if you are really tall (like me, though I still get just over an inch of slack) or if you have a extremely large belly. I have yet to see anyone get turned away while in the station, so accommodation for size is verry good.

I don't need the test seat...but my advice is:

a.) if the line extends to the test seat...sit down in it as if you're just taking a break off your feet, and then act like you're testing the restraint out of boredem than actually needing to use it!!

b.) if the line does NOT extend to the entrance, go up to the entrance with your group of friends and spark up a fake conversation about whether or not your group has time to get in line, and during this "deciding" and "discussion" then proceed as above with sitting in the seat!

But just have faith in yourself!! I was a little nervous about El Toro last year at Six Flags Great Adventure, and bypassed the test seat, and ended up being more than fine!!

Good luck!

Okay so I worked on Maverick for a few days and here I go. The test seat at the entrance is the same at the ride. And the employees dont have to measure, for if you look at the belt there is some yellow stitching that has to be shown underneath the buckle, representing one inch. Also, what you may not know at the entrance is that just because the harness comes down and the buckle fastens, means nothing, really. The harness has to come down and be touching the muscle on your thighs. Just saying. PEACE
