Seat Belt Question

I know the computer can tell if your lapbar or harness is locked. Can the computer tell if the seatbelt is in the slot? One time I was on Magnum-xl-200 & they stoped the ride on the lift hill because someones seatbelt wasn't on. THANKS!! :)

They have cameras and mirrors to watch as you go up the lift. Thats how ride ops can see that sort of thing (and people pulling out cell phones.)

I got to love the people with cell phones on the lift hills. Last year on Mantis a women was taking pictures of herself going up the lift. They stopped the ride on the lift the lady hurried up and put her phone away. Then the op came and told her she couldn't have loose articles on the ride and told her to keep it in her pocket. The op left and the ride went and then stopped because she had her phone out and was taking pictures of her friends in the seat next to her. Well twenty minutes later, the ride was back to running normally.

They do not have a system that can tell if the seatbelts are fastened the ride host are the ones that watch for seatbelts as they leave the station and like mentioned before there are camera on the lifts as well.

Yeah I've been on MF when someone unbuckled their seat belt. That turned out to be a great thing because we got vouchers to go straight to the front of the line for any ride in the park other than TTD. :)

Was this before Maverick?

Because I would think that the Maverick line would be longer than the TTD line.

I could see why having cell phones, cameras, hats, etc. are not permitted on rides because someone could let go of there item and could hurt themselfs or some one else. But you have to laugh about people taking off seatbelts or using a phone.

I just had to run up 2/3 of a 120 foot lift hill a week or so ago because some moron pulled out his cell phone and was starting to film the ride. It's not fun.

I've never understood why anyone would want a cell phone video of the ride anyway. The quality is crappy enough when the camera and the person holding it isn't bouncing all over the place.

I did find is shocking that the ride ops at SF America were actually encouraging people to use their phones to take pictures and video when I was there two years ago. I almost got nailed with a phone on Superman because some guy in the front seat couldn't hold onto it.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

I sat at the top of the mean streak hill for about 20 mins while someone came to take a phone last summer and called it a loose article violation.

I'm going out to get some air.

I don't think safety is of the utmost priority at SF, hence the many accidents and deaths over the years.
