I have been going to Cedar Point ever since I was a little kid, and once I hit high school, my friends and I would go down a couple times a summer for the weekend. Anyways, my point is that I never considered a season pass, jus assuming that it would be a couple hundred dollars or so. I assumed you would have to go A LOT to make it worth buying. So two years ago when I randomly looked at the season pass prices I couldn't believe that it was less than $100!
So, this will be my third year having a season pass. I am just wondering, doesn't everything think a season pass is dirt cheap when it costs $40 something for a day pass?
i spend like 200 something dollars on my pass
i get cedar point, geauga lake, parking for both and joe cool, i really think i got soak city last year too ( even though i never went ) and i spent some ridiculous amount like 250 dollars, but think about it, i went like 23 times last year, it over paid itself, i almost felt bad.
Let's do the math just for fun
we'll round and say 40 for prices okay....okay
40 x 23 = 920 dollars
+
8 ( for parking ) x 23 = 184
184 + 920 = a grand total of
1104! i would say a season pass is a great investment even if you end up going 5 times....definetly get parking though, its a great add-on
Our tounges our sharp quick this is getting out of hand so tonight were going out in armor dressed to kill
It's actually $9 for parking.....which is why I get a parking pass with my SP(with JCC).
I payed a total of $187 for my pass(+ PP and JCC) but I definatly think it's a reasonable price. As it's said, "It pays for itself in 3 trips."
Im actually going 12 times this year.
SO.....
12 x 40 = $480
9 x 12 = $108
$480 + $108 = $588!
And don't get me started on gas!!!:)

The reason that they are able to offer them at such a low price is that you will either...
A. Not use it enough for it to pay for itself, (2 times of less) or,
B. While you might not be paying admission, they're counting on the fact that you'll be buying things liks food and souvineers while you're at the park.

If you plan on staying 2 or 3 days the season pass is the only way to go.We live 8 hours away,so when we go to the point we always stay at least 3 days, even if your just there two weekends a year that would be alot of money in daily tickets.CP has their season passes very cheap, for the amount of rides, and everything else.

Of course when they were on sale in the fall with the free JCC club included with combo passes, it would have only been another $14 to get that Soak City combo too. I think they like people like me. Start with the basic pass then "well, it's only $xx to add this, then it's only $xx to add this." Before you know it I've spent $200 on a $100 pass. But it's still well worth it.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Spending $10 each time you go is cool, but not the norm. Add what you spend each time you go (ESPECIALLY if you have kids) to the price of the SP and you'll understand why CP makes a ton of money off season pass holders.
I'll be getting my SP in a couple of weeks at Michigan's Adventure. It's a little cheaper there and a much shorter drive for me.
Plus I get to see that park coming alive.
