Season Pass Lines

Josh M.'s avatar

I know that the Season Pass Center line is terrible on opening day, but I am redeeming mine this weekend. I will be going Friday afternoon around 3ish... Is there a line on normal operating days for Season Pass redemption?

I tried to search for past topics about this, but the search function wasn't working... or the operator didn't know how to make it work ;)

Feel free to close this after there is an answer.

I assume you may wait up to a 1/2 hour, but it shouldn't be too bad. No 4 hour lines.

On Monday May 8 (very dead day) the line was quite long. I was the third in line, so all I had to do was wait for the Season Pass Center to open. I got there at 9am and entered the park with my pass at around 9:25. It took them a while to get things going.

We waited only 15 minutes for the entire process on opening day. Guess we were lucky? They opened around 8:20 am and started processing people.

I was unimpressed with predictions of some "gigantic wait", and yes Ive seen the pictures, but it was pretty quick.

We went Sunday afternoon (day after opening) and had to wait about an hour and a half. However, the pass lines have pretty much disappeared; my brother's first visit was the following Wednesday after he got out of school and he walked right up to the cashier and right in to his picture, and the same thing happened on Saturday afternoon when he went with a couple of friends who hadn't gotten theirs yet. Honestly I'd say you're pretty safe, you won't have much of a wait if there's one at all.

I, to my surprise, actually saw people who I thought were going to riot or something. Around 5 when I headed over there to take a look at what was going on, the lines were huge, and people kept being sent back to the Group Sales office where they were processing the certificates/info cards because there were problems with them; this after they had spent 2+ hours in line. *** Edited 5/16/2006 3:38:02 AM UTC by DBCP***

They need to seriously revamp their system. Six Flags and Paramount parks really speed you through the process, and even with huge lines you're out of there in no time.

3 is probably a perfect time. I'm sure you'll have no line to worry about.

p.s. I'm just sick with jealousy over your avatar... :) Nice!

Josh M. exactly where are you standing in your pic?

I was like 8th in line on opening weekend Sunday. I got my photot taken pretty quick, but waited 30 minutes for my photo.

Apparently not only were rides down, so was the season pass printer.

Thats right at the bottom of the first hill... taken after we closed the ride on my last night during the 2004 season. Im standing on the footers right at the bottom of the drop.

Coastern3rd unfortunately it usually takes that long. This year I had a dumb ass attack and forgot to renew by mail so I had to deal with it too.

Cool Josh! I wish I could give the big sexy girl a hug someday too. ;)

Never in my 8 season passes has it taken that long.

They told me the printer went down. I mean, I know I have an ugly mug... But breaking the printer? ;)

you really think 3s the hour to go? Well i dont really know because i always go early, but cant you sometimes come back for your picture later?

I don't see how... in order to be admitted to the park you have to have your pass, and without the picture you don't have a pass.

However, if you haven't bought your pass, you can buy a one day admission and go back later. The price you paid for admission will be applied to your season pass cost. If you've already bought the voucher though, I think you are out of luck.

There have been times that they've allowed guests into the park with just their certificates when the processing line has been insanely long. Don't count on it happening any time other than opening day in the afternoon, though. Even then it's not a guarantee.

When I went on Opening Day 2006, they had 2 places to get your pictures taken, but the line was still 2 hours long. Due to the opening of the second picture taking location, they would not let anyone enter the park with just their green slips.
