Season Pass ERT

Despite the rain it sounds like it was a fun evening for the few who showed up. Not a surprise from looking at the webcam last night. It is too bad that these ERTs started out to such crummy weather. Better luck tonight.

ejh - with the rain and the minimal number of people, I would imagine the trims were turned off at some point. You put only a couple people in a train and turn the trims on and you almost need to get out and push through the pretzel.

The trims were off on every single ride, not that it's surprising. I rode solo in the front a couple of times, with 5 or 6 people in the back car, and the front of the train crawled through some parts of the ride.

As stated by RacefortheSky, Dragster was down all evening due to rain (I didn't get there until around 8). I got soaked riding other things before the park closed, but it stopped raining just before the ERT started, so after 15 rides, I was pretty much dry.

Well guys....as far as the radar looks right now....were home free for a night of riding till we puke!! (or something like that) Anyone else going for sure tonight? It would be cool to say hi to some of the other folks on this page. Anyone else going....hope you enjoy!

Well, it looks like there still could be some rain tonite. I'm planning to go tomorrow evening, and the weather looks like it will be great.

I got back about a half hour ago. We waited in line, with around 100 other guests at the TTD entrance in a line that began to form around 10:00. At 10:50, more than a half hour after the last regular guest had taken their ride, we were still waiting and told the ride was down due to mechanical reasons. It began to rain about the same time and everytime the phone rang, everyone was like, "that's them telling us all to go home..." But, around 11:00 they let us in. The rain had stopped and it was time to ride.

They had 3 trains available, which at first wasn't that great, but the number of people died down through out the hour, and eventually they were looking for riders to fill the trains. Even though it did begin to rain again during our ERT, and pretty good at that, they continued to let us ride because no one had a problem with the "pain." No rollbacks, but 3 trains were very close, just inching their way over. All in all I was able to get 5 rides in about 45 or 50 minutes. They closed the line off at about 10 till midnight.

The crew treated us great and continually proclaimed how happy they were to spend an extra hour with the season pass holders who meant so much to them. So, thanks to the crew, and the maintenance team, who stuck around to make sure things kept running.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to tonite. The weather should be great!

Absolutly right DBCP.....was there also...a totally awesome experience. I was on that last green train that barely made it over......and the last trains of the night after that were slung-shot over the tophat!! As for the pain.....I'd have to say that we had the privlege of riding the front seat in one of the heavier moments of rain.....and it was pretty unpleasant......but well woth it. (I think my lips are still stinging.....j/k!) We got 4 total rides in.....2 in the front seat....and 2 randomly seated near the middle. I re-thank the staff and maintenance people who all made it a wonderful event.

So they are running in the rain now?

Not during normal operating hours. They just let us do it because no one had anything against it or a problem with it. It still closes during rain when the park is open.

Curse you DBCP and your 5 rides!! If I would have known you were there, I probably would have spotted you the line as I was heading back to the lockers.....

I got my 5 rides during ERT on Thursday night. The weather was great, although a bit humid. There were more people there for ERT than the previous two nights, but that was to be expected since there was no rain.

Anyway, the crew did a great job keeping everyone moving. We finally got into the station around 11pm, and I managed to get in 5 rides over the next hour. I thought I was done at 4, but as I exited, they were filling the last 2 trains of the night, and needed another single rider. I just couldn't resist another ride at midnight!

Thanks to CP and TTD Crew for making it a great night!

Did you have to walk all the way around?

On TTD yes, on Magnum on Tuesday they were allowed to stay on.

So really the park choosing not to run TTD in the rain due to "safety" issues has less to do with that and more to do with "comfort."

I don't know ejh...that's a tough call. I am sure they would not run the train in an all out "rain". What we experienced on Wednesday was more of a brisk drizzle. I imagine at that point, there would be no real safety danger, but a definite comfort issue. I rode front seat in the drizzle and it hurt.....no joke. Not bad enough to physically harm anyone, but a sharp sting is the best way to describe it. Hope this helps!! Ride On!

I was also there on Wednesday night... got in four rides, and that includes waiting for the front seat once. Great time. I really hope CP is encouraged by the enthusiastic response by the passholders, so they do more of this kind of thing. I'm also echoing what has already been stated, but the crew was great... both the ride ops and the maintenance guys.

I would have stayed for the whole hour had I been able to, but having someone with you that isn't a season pass holder can put a stop to that. But hey, I'm happy, finally got a ride on TTD this year; and I had forgoten what a rush it is.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

The first year I got my pass, I thought they did things like this all the time. It was actually the basis for getting my pass.
