This is more a question for Tony that I figured would be useful for all to see.
I realize that this year its probably not possible due to it being late in the cycle, but have there been any talks of opening the Cedar Point Season Pass Center prior to the opening of other parks in the region? Even something like the Monday (or Saturday) before the opening of Kings Island would allow people who want a Cedar Point pass to be able to get their pass processed before visiting a sister park.

I'm mainly concerned that if I process down there that I'm going to have to use the main gate all year and do the whole sister park validation thing that I've seen friends have to do. As stupid as it sounds, I'd rather skip KI opening day if it means getting stuck parking in the main lot and using the front entrance all year.lol

That's not true. You no longer have to do sister park validation like you did years ago. A season pass from any Cedar Fair park works in the same easy way at every one of their parks.
The only difference would be what your pass looks like.

I've always had a Michigan's Adventure pass (except the one year I got a KI) and I always go in back by Magnum. Just knock on the door, they buzz you in and take your info and you continue through. Its a couple seconds longer but not bad. I'm hoping that they finally got MA hooked into the computer system so I can just scan like everyone else.

So if you buy a pass at another park you need to go somewhere special? Its not a big deal, I'll just buy my pass at CP instead of GL, just a bit longer of a drive to process.

Tony posted this over at coasterbuzz:
"Based on logistics and feedback, the Platinum Pass processing policy was just recently changed (as in yesterday).
It is now true: you can process your Platinum Pass at any Cedar Fair park. However, we still encourage you to process your Platinum at the original park of purchase.
Obviously, if you're going to Kings Island on opening day and you purchased a Platinum Pass from Cedar Point, you have no choice, as our Season Pass Center opens the following week.
Tell your friends!"
Hopefully Michigan's Adventure get's their system updated. We were treated like crooks when we went to the Office at Michigan's Adventure to use our Kings Island Platinum Passes. I almost turned around and left.
