Searching for Mr Skyward

I know not everyone here will know who I am refering to, but some definitely will.

The past couple of trips my hubby and I noticed we didn't see Mr Skyward at all. We saw him through out the beginning/mid of season but no sightings lately. I always worry about CPs most famous icon when he's not seen for a while :(

Has anyone spotted Mr Skyward lately?

Dave, Matt and I saw him about a month ago. I need an interview with this guy...oh wait I did interview him.

I saw Skyward just about two weeks ago. Actually, I've seen him a lot this summer, even at Soak City!

I saw him about two weeks ago, also. He was standing by Dragster's grandstands while looking... skyward.

I saw him on Sunday over by TTD. Christa pointed him out to me as I was in a la la land or something. First time being back in the park in almost a month for me.

He was there on Labor Day as well.

It's not a complete day at the park unless you see Skyward!

I ran into him earlier this summer at Ryan's Grill and Buffet in Sandusky.

I saw him on August 29th walking by Power Tower, so don't fret, he's still around. I've been there 24 times this year, and I only remember two trips where I didn't see him.

Is that his real name? Why is he such an important CP icon, I know a little about him, but not much. Can anyone fill me in?

the first somethingawful goon meet of this year there was a group of about 25 of us just running up to random people and posting for pictures with them. It just so happened that Mr. Skyward was standing there at the time. We even walked up to him and asked him if we could take a picture, because we didn't want to rush him in fear of a breakdown. I'd post the pictures, but we don't have any. Why, you ask? because he curled into almost fetal position, saying "no, no no you can't do this. no. no." in a display of psychotic behavior.

It was funny, but he flipped out and no one got any pictures of him.

We saw him on sunday by the red garter talking to a guard.

I think its funny that even at a zoo we get people like that. Such people come to mind as Jimmy the finger, and Freddy the fondler. Unfortunately none of these guys are as cool as Mr.Skyward.

Crashoverride, i think his name is john or jake of jeff, something that starts with a J. I just saw him two weekends ago, so he's still around.

His name is John. I've known him for about 16 or 17 years now. He used to go to Daly's pub back when I was a bartender there. He comes up to talk to me whenever he sees me.

I believe something happened to him in Viet Nam. Post Tramatic Stress Syndrome, I think. He used to hang out at the bars in Sandusky. He's a big Browns fan, and loves to go to the Flats in Cleveland(or used to). As for psychotic, I don't know, but he is just not good around most people until he semi-trusts you.

And, this makes him an icon how?

It's like the knitting lady or the orange hat guy at Wings games. They are icons just because they are always there.

He's like the "The Rotor Man" from GL. Now that guy was just plain creepy!

His name is John, and his other nickname is "Sandusky Sports Guy" for he is known to be at most all Sandusky high school sport games. He also (as someone mentioned) goes to alot of Browns games.

I guess considering what Tambo said, I should be honored because not only does John make sure he waves to me when he sees me, he knows my name, and he will ride Raptor with me when ever I ask. When I worked on Raptor he always made sure he sat in my row and said hi. He only scared me once 2 years ago when he tried to sit in my lap in Raptor's test seat. It was classic ;)

I actually have a couple pictures with him, one from OD 3 years ago, and a couple riding Raptor with him. None as classic as Hooper's mind you, but cool none the less. He has always been very nice to me, and I'm glad he's still being seen around the Po!nt.

Bets anyone on which shirt he will have on 1st Friday Halloweekends?? :)

The Rotor Man is nice, though this year has been tough for him because we enforce the no re-rides policy, and he had been exempt from it for years.

He is also a big Browns fan, and in the latter part of the regular season, I would chat with him after work. I have never met Mr. Skyward, as I didn't realize the Point had a Rotor Man of its own.

Anyone have a photo of him, or a description, so I can be on the lookout?
