Seagull Question

Thinking that someone here has some knowledge about seagulls I have to ask this. My daughter and I witnessed something yesterday, and being the animal freaks we are I have to find out the answer.
At lunch yesterday we witnessed a seagull swollow an entire chicken drumstick. He swollowed it whole and literally my daughter and I were freaking. It went down sideways, and then the seagull sat down. We both almost started crying because we thought the seagull was dieing right then. You could see the seagull was trying to get the bone down, and eventually we couldn't see it in his throat anymore. The seagull was drinking water, and eventually was being nasty to the other seagulls but here is our question and our concern.
Is that seagull dead meat? I can't imagine that a tiny seagull could pass a whole drumstick but I'm a horse person not a bird person so I have no clue. My daughter brought up the subject of the seagull several times saying she hopes he won't die.
Does anyone have any idea what the fate of that seagull is? Again I know it sounds petty (people have asked far more stupid questions) but we love animals and it really bugged us.
Thanks!!

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

Jo:

I know that birds have the ability to grind certain things, i.e. grain, since they do not chew as 'we' do. I believe the gizzard houses rocks and such (which explains why chickens peck the ground). I wouldn't think a whole drumbstick would fall into the same catagory as grain.

Hopefully the damn thing died!! I hate those things. They are the worst thing in the world. And if you watch them closely, it's almost as if they are scheming together. It is funny to give them an Alka-Seltzer though :) Not that I've EVER done it! :)

I love to give them fries or popcorn. I sure hope he didn't die.

This reminds me of one day there was a seagull with only one leg. He was trying to get some of the popcorn we were throwing at the flock but his gimp made it hard.

Being someone who has worked in the themepark industry in Florida, I can tell you that seagulls are a MENACE! Whats funny is that usually the same people who feed them are the same ones that complain! "These seagulls are bothering my family!"
Me: "QUIT FEEDING THEM!" Okay my story is done, thank you.
