If you're interested in being a Screamster for this coming fall during Halloweekends, we have a recruiting poster that the marketing folks sent us with details so you can get your scream on.

How many hours do you get per weekend? Basically with it costing $90 to get there and back, will I make enough money to make it worthwhile?

You should be happy that you don't have to pay them to let you work there.

Diane

You'll make enough to break even and have a good time doing it.

When do they begin hiring?

I don't care how much fun I would have, I'm not working anywhere to break even.

If you want more information, you could, I dunno, read the poster and e-mail the "e-mail for more info" address.

The hiring is going on right now, so you can apply any time.

The longest you will work in a night is 4 PM until 12:30 AM, and your start time depends on when your makeup time is, which is something you'll schedule with your makeup artist. If you are worried about getting enough pay, there are always opportunities to pick up a position in the park during the daytime. In the past I have worked in admissions, rides, and the parade and have brought home a pretty decent paycheck. This is something you can ask about when you get your phone interview.

The job really is incredible. The people I work with are some of the hardest working, most devoted people I know. You work your butt off every night but it is 100% worth it. If anyone has questions about what the job entails feel free to shoot me a message. I'm not online much these days so it may take a while before I respond, but I'll definitely get back to you.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

How does the lodging work? ie..free or taken out of paycheck?

If it wern't for a few minor things holding me back...a kid...a boyfriend....not having a car...living hundreds of miles away...I would definately do it. :)

^^ After Labor Day employee housing is free, so Screamsters pay nothing to stay out there. You can usually grab a dorm with other Screamsters pretty easily.
