Didn't know if I should put this in a trip report or not, decided not to because it wasn't a typical CP trip.
Just got back from riding my Honda Ruckus from Muskegon Michigan to Cedar point and back. The trip to the Point took about 11 hours for 352 miles. The trip back took a little over 10 hours and 327 miles. My best friend and I left his house in Greenville on the way down there, that has to be where the extra time and less miles came from on the way back for me. The hardest part of the trip was getting through Toledo and going around Port Clinton taking back roads only.
We stayed at Breakers for 2 nights. We got hassled on the way over the Causeway by CP police, until we informed them that we were staying on point. We rode all the rides that were open and seen some shows. All in all it was a good trip with the bonus being it took about 11 gallons of gas for the whole trip. We are planning on doing the same thing in another month, but going to Dollywood. Our wives think we are nuts.
Oh, by the way we both have Harley's so it's not like we couldn't ride big boy bikes down there, we just decided to do something different.
I was amazed all through the trip on what little towns we went through that I have never heard of. And, of what I usually miss when doing 50 or 60 through some of these back roads I have traveled before.
Has anybody else did anything like this?
If you highlight the words "Honda Ruckus" in his post, the copy-and-paste that into Google, you'll probably find some information. Also, welcome to the Internet! Hope your first day here is going well. ;)
On one hand, getting around 60 mpg is nice, though I'm not sure I could handle increasing my drive time by 120%. Sounds like an interesting trip.

I have a HD Road King Classic and love to ride to CP. I live just south of Toledo and its a great ride on the back roads over to Port Clinton and Sandusky. Never been harassed by the CP Police but maybe you just have that look. And why pay for preferred parking when bikers have their own free preferred parking :)
Why would you ride the scooter during Ohio Bike Week? Lots of great bikes to look at this week.

OK dj I guess I missed that when I replied in the middle of the night. My bad. Having just been to the point a day before, I too was curious why one might choose a scooter when it's bike week, and he actually has a bike he could have ridden...
My butt hurts just thinking about this but good on your for trying something different. And, 11 gallons of gas? Maybe I should invest in a padded seat.

The scooter actually gets 110 miles per gallon, so my calculations were off when I first posted. I actually used around 8 gallons of fuel, not 11. Forgot it was actually bike week this week, otherwise we would have rode our big bikes down there. Rode my bike down to daytona for bike week 2 years ago, in a light to moderate snow through indiana. Never do that again because of road salt and rust.
Chief, believe me my butt is sore.
