Schwabinchen update...

What progress are you looking for? Remember, this is a ride going into a park that is not known for doing things quickly...

For the moment, did you have a look at the pictures on my site?

Like Rideman said, it'll be a few years before the likelyhood of it being back up and running. Besides pieces of it are still at CP.

Well, my understanding is that Stricker's would like to have the ride running for 2005. The reality is that while the ride needs its annual rehab, while the ride could use some additional work, and while that alone will be a time-consuming process, the park is also not set up for that ride. They've started removing the Crazy Daisy, but there is no way that they're gonna get the Hully Gully to fit into that space. A considerable chunk of the park is probably going to have to be reconfigured, so I have my doubts as to whether they'll have all that done in time for next Spring.

Hopefully this won't involve removing the ride that it took Stricker's three years to install.......

Hmm, can't figure out why I thought Schwabinchen was a Trabant model... of course, I only rode it three or four times, and after that I've really never been to that area (other than the occasional Twister ride).

Did the Hully Gully models go backwards? If so, maybe that's something Stricker's should look into is having that put back into action. The reverse spin on a trabant is fun, so I can just imaginge a Hully Gully going backwards (airtime!).

Nice pics dave,

Thanx for the update.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

you know... schwabinchen is one ride I never did ride at cedar point... and I have some big regrets about that... I even went and sat in one of the tubs in the evc... yeah I'm a dork, but hey. So I can't wait for this ride to be running somwhere again, cause I want a ride on it! Does anyone know where other operating hully gully's are?
