Schwabinchen Lady

I've seen the ride parts for Schwabinchen sitting in the EVC lot across from Commons Dorms. Well I had always wondered what ever happened to the Lady? Then this summer we visited the Merry-Go-Round museum in downtown Sandusky and she was in there on display! Did anyone else know this, b/c we sure were suprised to see her there.

*Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I couldn't find anything on it in the search.*

Schwabinchen Lady was removed to make room for TTD.
I'm told that she vanished from the MGR museum a few weeks ago. Anybody heard anything about where she went?

Apparently she's going to be on display for a new Halloweekends exhibit.
It's good to know that she's atleast still staying in Sandusky. I think that's cool she will be used on a display for Halloweekends.

Does anyone have a picture of the lady?

I'm curious to see how she'll be implicated into a Halloweekends display.

Apparently the Schwabinchen Lady will be featured in the Halloweekends Exhibit 'Rides from the past.' This isn't the official name since I can't remember exactly what my source told me. This information came from an older worker at the wood shop on Frontier Trail. A few others that were with me that weekend can vouch for this as well.

Other rides that will be featured include the Pirate Ride and the Sanfrancisco Earthquake ride. As for the location of this exhibit I'm not exactly sure. The Schwabinchen Lady is currently sitting on a 7 foot high skirt and is now located in the area between P&D and MeanStreak. However, since this weekend begins Halloweekends I imagine she won't be there and she'll be at the exhibit.

I say bring the LADY BACK. Always enjoyed trying to look down her top while spinning around her. Hah!!!!!

Huggy says the Lady was removed to make room for TTD, which is accurate in an indirect sort of way, I believe. TTD displaced Chaos, which took her place by WT. And Troika was in the same boat, sending it to its current location by Disaster RipSnort.

I used to ride Chaos a lot when it was in its previous spot. I think I've only been on it once or twice since the move. Just doesn't feel right.

I thought Schwabinchen was a great silly ride. But, Dragster was a relatively small price to pay for its removal, I guess.

I still miss it.

What a great idea for a cemetery display... Can't wait to see the photos, hopefully I can make it back to the Point to catch all the additions to Halloweekends this season.

The Amazement Park

The first thing I'd do if I ever had a time machine was to go back to the early 80's and do all the rides from this "cemetary", especially Schwabinchen and Mill Race. Of course, then I'd go back even further, to the Monorail, and the Cyclone, and the Switchback Railway... oh, to dream.

The article says the ride is going to another park after this season. Are we to assume that the centerpiece is staying with it? Would anyone know what lucky park is getting it? I'm guessing Michigan Adventures, but I have no idea. They seem to get a lot of stuff from us.

Any similarity in name is purely coincidental.

I would hazard a guess it's going to either MA or DP, as I don't believe it would fit in at KBF. I understand that the reason that it was removed from service at CP was that it required a complete overhaul, which is not unusual for a thirty year old ride. SO, who's going to do it,CP or the park that gets it?

I wonder if any items from Avalanche Run will make it to the cemetery... maybe a ride entrance sign, seems like everything else was "covered up" for the Disaster.

Since Michigan’s Adventure already has a Trabant ride, I doubt that they will be getting Schwabinchen. Yes, I know that Cedar Point at one time had both a Trabant and Schwabinchen, but given the condition that the ride was in, it is unlikely that it will be moved to another Cedar Fair park.
