Schwabinchen - What is going in it's place

I'm curious, what is going in place of Schwabinchen? With all the buzz about Top Thrill, is there anything going on on the "Oceana" Midway?

Chaos is going in Schwabinchen's place, go here to see.

Force Laps: 434

That looks pretty cool, except that moving things really takes away a lot of the "originality". I mean, I rode Troika during my first visit to CP when I was seven, and I remember it clearly being right next to (but a little farther up the midway from) Corkscrew. Now that it's going under DT, it's gonna loose some the "feel" that I had for it.

The picture above show Chaos in the forground and then another foundation further back, by Wicked Twister. Does anyone know what that foundation is for? It's not for Troika, that ride is going in next to Disaster Transport. Could it be that CP is installing a new flat ride for 2003?

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

I wish you were right, but those just look like skids for building materials/ride parts maybe. In the other picture you can see there are Troika booms all ready at that site.
You are partly correct Deanne..

The "second foundation" that Pete refers to is actually a cover for teh pit for when they poured the concrete for the Chaos pit.

I think with Dragster in it's place, you won't miss the "feel". Personally, I think moving both of those rides to the WT midway is a great idea. It gives "families" more to do while the thrill seekers are riding WT. I think most people agree that entire part of the park needed a boost.

I defintely agree. Even with Wicked Twister, I have always felt like that area of the park was deserted (few guests milling about, and little to do). I can see how this would be great for families, as well -- Mom and Dad can take the little ones on some Kiddy Kingdom rides, while the older kids hop on Chaos or Troika to pass the time since they're not too far away.

What will be interesting to see is how Troika will be laid out, with the queues and all, Chaos is a given, but Troika has an interesting place..

Was it really necessary to eliminate Schwabichen all together?? There has to be other places in the park that could use a relocated flat ride. They could have easily put one ride under DT's lift like they are doing, and the other ride elsewere. Both Frontiertown and the main midway extension up through MF could both use a flat ride.

Chaos is not going in Schwabinchen's space. The removal of Schwabinchen wasn't to make space for Chaos. The photo posted showing the foundation for Chaos is much closer to Wicked Twister than Schwabinchen ever was. Don't you think?
In that photo.. the pit that is closest to you is for Chaos.. that picture is taken from the stairs that lead to the Live E offices.

Chaos is only on skids in the backround.

On the left you can ever see the back of the old Swab. sign is still there..

I am not a huge flat ride fan, so forgive me here: In that pic, is that chunk of yellow on the ground part of one of the flats...or is that new WT track?

I give up..

You're right.. it's new WT track.. It was dropped off by the black helicopters and they forgot to photoshop it out of the pic before they released it.

Please don't believe anyone who was actually ON point when they were curing the concrete in the pit.

I give up.. where's my aluminum foil? I need to put it back on my head so the government can't read my thoughts anymore.

I think that the foundation that is seen closest to the camera is the tech pit/room that used to be located close to the lagoon. Looks like the ride may be in the middle of the midway. It would look pretty neat if that were the case. That midway is a huge dead spot. Just like in front of Coasters.

Easy Rob, I really don't know what that yellow piece is! I was just asking.

Your aluminum foil is probably in your kitchen. But aluminum doesn't work anymore. Try using a pot that you would cook soup in. Works for me! :)

You're right.. the pot works...
