Schwabichen (sp?)

First of all, sorry if the name of this thread is spelled wrong. I was just wondering where the rumors that Schwabinchen is being removed are coming from. I don't see anything happening in the construction of the new ride that would suggest this. I hope that it stays, this is my mother's favorite type of ride.

There is no proof, it's all rumors. However, if the rumor is true, the fact that you haven't seen any construction by Schwab is because they can take a flat ride down in a couple of hours.

Hey, I have an idea, why don't you let the moderators do the moderating. Where is CoastaPlaya with his top five list?

And by the way, it's Schwabinchen... close!

I havent heard any rumors this year about that spinny ride with the sexy woman on top (not gonna try) coming down, however I heard a "My boss says" rumor repeatedly, that it was coming down last year. So that may help your quest on trying to find out whether the rumor is true, as it is still here this year. However there is a rumor that the Troika and Chaos are going in that area, when theyre done refurbishing, so it might be possible. I know they want to pull more traffic in that direction (Though I think they accomplished that with WT.) And they want to concentrate the carnie type rides in that area. (Again another rumor).

Hey hey. This is a freaking forum, The whole point is freedom to talk about what we want, how we want to talk about it. If you dont like it, leave.

You don't have any freedom here... you must be mistaken.

I don't know....I think you nuked it!!

Looks like I'll have to start a new thread asking why you did.

Mr. Jigga, I'm sorry if I offended you with my thread. I'm not paranoid that the ride is leaving, and in fact I don't expect it to. I personally think that it would go nicely along with Troika, Chaos, and Ocean Motion (which was obviously already there.) I was just wondering where the rumors had started. Troy helped to answer my question so thank you. Also thank you to Jeff for helping me out with the spelling. I can never remember that one.

Anyway, Mr. Jigga, the fact is that I have been a member of this board for most of its five year history. In that time I have probably started about 5 new threads, so I hardly think that I have been jamming this message board with tons of needless noise.

I have now gone the longest span of my life without a visit to Cedar Point. I haven't been there for two summers in a row. Isn't that sad?

Actually Jeff, LOL that was directed at CP Jigga, not your post :

But I suppose I would be a hippocrite if I said he didnt have the right to speak his mind too. Anyways...

Sorry if I offended.

Cedar Point hasn't released any information about the ride, yet. All they say is the common
"the park hasn't announced any new plans for next season, but stay tuned" or something along those lines. My best bet is that the ride will stay, but the rumors are still there, so we can only wait.

Actually, I didn't nuke it, but the dude who started the topic deleted it since we were all making fun of him. ;)

That sucks....I wasted some serious 'A' material on that guy. I was in rare form even by my own (weird) standards.

He's still the first 'Shirwin Williams' poster if you ask me.

I worked on the Schwabinchen this year and I'm about 99.9% sure that she will be gone next year. It might be a rumor, but if I have my guess right the ride will be gone. It doesn't get enough riders and Michigan's Adventure needs some more rides. I would bet that the "dancing lady" :) is gone next year.

Ah, for the days they used to hand rides down to VF.

Unfortunately, we have a Chance Trabant--so even if this were true (which I still tend to doubt) we wouldn't get it.

Do you happen to know if that's the Trabant from Cedar Point? I remember it like it was yesterday (ditto for the Tiki Twirl).

You know, it took me 2 seasons to realize Trabant was gone? I wasn't very observant back then.

Toasted flying banana's are fun.

Very good question....I don't think so. To be honest, I don't remember the Trabant at all, though I fondly remember the Tiki Twirl and especailly the Rotor. Was fhe Trabant themed as if it were a roulette wheel?

No, the Trabant had the red and orange paint scheme on the Lexan, with the mirrored ball in the middle. Trabant sat on the end of the main midway near where Scrambler sits now. When the Trabant was removed (for the 1991 season, I think) the Scrambler was shifted slightly, and I believe the nacho stand was moved a little to "cover up" the hole.

--Dave Althoff, Jr.

Nothing was "moved" to cover up the hole...CP jsut planted(notice they do add vegatation once in awhile;)) some landscaping and then added the tables which are on the right of the Nacho Stand. The Nacho Stand is in the same spot as always and sat right between the Trabant and the Scrambler.
