Saw alot of commercials for STR today

I'm in Toledo before you ask, and I saw quite a few commercials for STR today on the local stations. It's the first I've seen of them here and it's comprised mostly of the CG pre-vis of the ride.

This poses two interesting questions

1. Is this a good sign?

2. WTF is Cedar Fair thinking putting on an ad for a non-functioning ride?! Why not hold it back and run a general commerical for the park until it's up and running (Obviously if you've paid for the airtime, you aren't going to pull your slot altogether)

Oh and I know this has been asked but a third question:

3. WTF was Cedar Fair thinking with the new CP theme? "The Fun and Only" If you can believe it... when it's sung in the commercial, it's worse than it reads on a computer screen.

Cedar Fair makes millions a year. If they wanna change the theme and air ads for the new ride even if its not up then they can. I've said this on facebook to alot of the cry babys that if you think that you can run the company better, then go do it.

liebevision,

1. They probably more than expected STR to be open by now. The negative effect of those commercials is probably less than the positive anyway. It's not like everyone that sees the commercial drops everything and goes to the park the next day. Kids just got out of school and people are planning stuff the summer.

2. "The Fun and Only" is a chain-wide slogan. They come up with new slogans like every 2 years or so. I agree it is cheesy, but it will only be around for a year or 2 anyway. Besides, I bet you can hum the song by now. What does that say about it?

3. Your post exceeds the limits for WTFs.

OK. Tell Kinzel he has 2 weeks to be out of his office. Who do I give the info to for direct deposit of my new multi-million $$$ paycheck?

This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!

Doesn't work that way. You first need to get hired before you get the paycheck (unless you want to start or buy your own park). Send in your resume to CF and see how it goes.

That shouldn't be too hard. So long as you've flipped burgers before (and are able to pick up trash currently), you qualify for CEO.

I just called the Firelands Red Cross and Ron Rude's secretary said the Red Cross Ride was NOT tomorrow. Possibly the following Saturday.

Honestly, I can't hum it. I've seen the commercial quite a few times now.. and it leaves me scratching my head every time to where all I'm left with is this lingering.... um.... what?! The only thing I can think is their trying to make a pun out of their stock ticker. I was trying to be optimistic about the new slogan until I actually saw the ad.

It is possible that they don't have a general commercial for the park made already. If that is the case it would make sense to just run the STR ad rather than run nothing at all. Or it would make sense if it's nearly ready.

Ugh, I wish I couldn't remember it. hehe.

Here's the same commercial footage for other parks. It really sounds bad for a few of them. CW has too many syllables!

All cedar fair park commrcials are all the same, the one for Michigans Adventure is the same to,to me there kind of boring.

I'm probably the only one that is going to say this but here it goes. I like they're new slogan! To me it has a nice kick to it especially for Cedar Point.

Get to the Po!nt. Cedar Point! 'nuff said.

A friend of mine and me have been joking for weeks that there was no way they could pull it off with Canada's Wonderland for the exact reason you mentioned. My jaw about hit the floor when I saw they did... and took out "the" in "the fun and only" to accommodate it.
