Was driving home on Rt 2 on friday from Toledo and saw an unusal sight...6 trucks...HUGE loads and escorts carrying these monsterous things that looked like giant whale fins or something. They were longer than the flatbed's and were steel and had round bases much like the connectors on steel track. The wife and I agreed that they MUST be heading to CP...we could not figure out where else such an odd looking set of GIANT steel shapes COULD be going heading west on route 2...interesting to say the least
^ I want proof.

I have no proof...and certainly am not sure WHERE these things were being taken...but it was on Rte 2...just easrt of 250, I was going east they were going west and my wife and I were taken aback by these things. Very odd looking and seemingly more decorative than functional, grey-ish steel that if you stood on the end the mountings were would look like waving blades of grass or a fin or something. We deduced they would ultimately wind up at CP because we could not figure out where on Earth Rt 2 would lead these things..where anyone would be doing construction with such devices. Perhaps they are strictly decorative and heading for Port Clinton or something...just seemed too strange though
I saw those, too! I was driving back to Cleveland from Ann Arbor, Michigan and my friend and I saw 6 trucks with these huge, silver "wing-like" things going west. CP never crossed my mind because these things were incredibly big and looked like they could have been for a plane (an odd plane because the wings were round at the end where it would attach to the actual body of the plane). Also, we were in Michigan when we saw them heading west so no way they were headed to CP.
Yes, Doctor Culex
The next time we get an update we will know for sure!!! ;)

101 on Magnum and counting...
I have no idea what they are for, but I saw a crane heading north on Rt. 4 last week and right away thought of CP, but the next day I saw it sitting on the site of Firelands Hospital in Sandusky. They still have a lot of construction going on there and it could possibly be heading there too.

i hate to break it to everyone, but cedar point isn't the only place doing construction right now in northern ohio. :)
WIND TURNBINES!!! come on people? you have never seen them before? We have them all over where i live.
I saw the same thing We were somewhere in Ohio/Indiana, on friday, and I saw a few trucks that all seemed to be carring something big. Looked like big fans or something-but they were covered up with tarps. Hes defently not lieing. I tried to look under the (black tarps) and it also seemed like some kind of cement base to them but I'm only 70% sure of that.
I'm in Kentucky right now on vacation and will be at CedarPoint on the 5th and 6th.

Umm...isn't the majority of the United States west of route 2 in Sandusky? Im pretty sure the odds of something traveling west on route 2 are in favor of it going anywhere but Cedar Point.

I saw 6 trucks come sailing in, come sailing in, come sailing in, I saw 6 trucks come sailing in on Christmas day in the Morning :)
i see semis hauling rather oversized and strange looking loads all the time. the trucks you were looking at may well be heading toward the major road construction in toledo where I-75 intersects with I-280. I've had to drive through that mess every time i go to Cedar Point for the past 5 years and they still are nowhere near done.
You should use the turnpike....that's why we always do.........that way you avoid all that construction.
Construction sucks. Once they finish something there is always more construction be done.
Oh yeah next year I'll be able to drive myself to CP. I have my temps now and can get my Liscense in December. I can't wait.
