SARS affecting CP attendance

I reading on a transformers forum and it said that the american/canadian border MAY be shut down if SARSgets too out of control in the future, and thought since since CP is so close to Canada, could this riun our summers???

Ruin my summer? no chance

guess it just depends on which side of the border you are on.

The border between CP and Canada is in the middle of the lake, so it's not like CP is that close.

It would only ruin the summer of people who are traveling to and from Canada. Although I'm sure a lot of Canadians visit CP, only they would have their summers ruined if they couldn't cross the border to visit CP.

The closing of the U.S.-Canadian border will not happen. SARS would need to get really bad (and I mean really, really, really, really bad) before the border would ever be closed. And if it did, the effect on CP's summer mainly would be economic, and minor compared to the effect it would have on other businesses.
more then likely not affecting Cedar Point attendance...

you are minimally exceptional...

I'd be more worried if I were one of the attractions near Niagara Falls. Cedar Point certainly gets Canadian visitors but not in such huge numbers that it would throw off the season.
The media is making SARS out to be the freaking black death. It's ridiculous. 4% of people who contract it die. And worldwide there are what, 2000 cases? You have, statistically, a .000000013% chance of dying from it. I think you're more likely to be struck by lightning while holding a winning lottery ticket in your hand.

Come on people, this poetry's not going to appreciate itself!

Ah, but it IS a brand-new disease that's relatively contageous, exact cause unknown until recently, that kills not only sick and elderly, but also younger, healthy people. That IS some cause for concern...

The CDC has put Toronto as the first western city with a SARS problem. It shouldn't pose a problem to CP, at least with the way the sickness has progressed.

The best thing about Six Flags "Worlds of Adventure" is that Cedar Point is nearby!

I don't see what's all the hub-hub is about SARS. If people want to worry about what will affect CP attendance they should keep track of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant.

In March of 2002 workers discovered cracks in 5 of the 69 control rod tubes. Not a good thing do happen because this allowed reactor cooling water to leak out. Currently, the plant is off-line. Look for updates at http://www.nrc.gov.

There is no (NO) way they can close the border. (period) Think about all the shipments coming accross the border. All the auto plants would be shut down. It ain't gonna happen.

I think that those of you expecting something huge and cool will be disappointed. There isn't a single logical reason to pour a footer and enclose it in an ugly wall for six months.

Not sure, but I think I heard the estimate of SARS cases in the entire U.S. is <100. So, I think this is getting blown a bit out of proportion.
