Sandusky schools

When do Sandusky area schools start in the fall? Me and the spousal unit are visiting in late august (25th and 26th) and are hoping the kids will be back in school. I did a search and could not find a related topic, but I do apologize if they is a thread like this already.

Whether the Sandusky area schools are in session or not has no effect on crowds at Cedar Point. The park pulls guests from all over the Midwest. I'd say a typical summer break for most kids runs from around June 1 to the end of August. But I'm sure there are many schools that are not back in session until Labor Day.

A better way to look at it is to check the park's operating schedule. You'll notice that Cedar Point closes at 8 PM that week, meaning they're not expecting heavy crowds. Will there be a big crowd any of those days? It's possible, but not likely.

Short answer - that's a good week to go.

i went last year on around august 26 and i waited less than 5 minutes for the second seat on Magnum in the middle of the day. Millenium force was a 15 minute wait a couple times and at max I think it was 30-45 minutes. Raptor was extremly short too.

Oh yeah, I think they go back about the 22 or around then; when most college freshmen go to college

I also went Aug 26-28 last year and lines were minimal. Just like Colin and Walt said, a great time to go. I know I'll be there during that week this year.
