Sandcastle suites-questions

I have some dumb questions but am going to ask them anyway. I plan on staying at sandcastle for the nights of wednesday august 31st and September 1st. We will arrive around 11 am on Wednesday.
How does parking work? Do you have to pull into the cedar point lot or does sandcastle have its own lot? Will I be able to leave at night to eat in Sandusky and come back without a parking fee?
I plan on booking their two day ticket package at sandcastle. Will I be able to print my tickets after I make my reservation or will I have to stop by the hotel on Wednesday morning before going to the park?

Is sandcastle the nicest place to stay for a family of four? Thanks!

At the toll booths, stay to the far left. You will have to pay the toll (no idea what it is these days) but you can redeem your toll ticket at the front desk for a refund. There is a road (Perimeter Road) that runs around the park.

Back by Mean Streak you will see a road that leads through the campground to the tip of the peninsula and there you will find the hotel.

Plenty of parking back there. Sandcastle has received some upgrades over the past few years but I haven't been inside for a while. The suite set up is better, in my opinion, for a family of four. Breakers has some suites like that too but Sandcastle is smaller, a little more "quiet" and the views around the property are very good.

You will be able to come and go with a resort pass that you will put in your car windshield. Be that as it may, there are some good restaurants on the peninsula including the Bay Harbor Inn if you are willing to spend some money for a nice meal. Reservations are highly recommended and the front desk should be able to help you with that.

Thanks for your help. What about the park tickets? Will I need to go to the hotel to pick them up before going to the park? Do they have shuttle service to the park?

Well, are you going on a "package"? If so you would need to check in at the hotel. There you could buy your discounted tickets...pick up Starlight tix that might be part of the package, etc. Your room may even be ready but if not you can leave your luggage in the car or have them put it in storage while you go to the park.

From there you can walk to the back gate (near Soak City and Magnum) or catch a Courtesy Van that could drive you to one of the gates.

I believe the courtesy vans run very often in the morning and then whenever they are called during the rest of the day. The front desk at Sandcastle can call them for you. You can even tell the driver which gate to the park you would like to go to.

Is sandcastle the nicest hotel at cedar point as far as room quality?

I'm not sure I would state that definitively. Breakers has comparable suites in terms of layout. I haven't been inside either hotel in a while so I don't know how "new" the furniture and fixtures are. I prefer Sandcastle just because it always seems more peaceful than Breakers. The surroundings are a little nicer too.

Breakers was built a little more "sturdy". Construction materials there mean you don't hear as many of the footsteps up and down the hallways or creaking above or below you but again, I still think Sandcastle is a more subdued environment overall.

Frankly, assuming your room is clean then I don't think you can go wrong at either place. You may hear folks talking about the Bon Air section of Breakers. Outside of the lobby/rotunda area Bon Air is the oldest section of the hotel...built in '26. While rooms have been upgraded over the years you are still dealing with a much older structure...no elevators...etc.

Sandcastle was recently renovated. Newer amenities such as flat screen tvs on the wall. The rooms are smaller and the walk is longer, but, to be fair, it is a great walk alongside Magnum on the beach. The Breakers East is nice. Close to the action, with restaurants, shops, and bars. You can't go wrong.
