Sandcastle Suites?

I have stayed at Hotel Breakers, Breakers Express and Castaway Bay but have not stayed at Sandcastle yet.

Is it nice and worth the money? Is it more like Express or Breakers?

Planning a trip once school starts at the end of August.

Yes.

No.

Okay you funny guys, which is it?

You're so cute!

(yes I am a girl, don't be scared)

I tried to use the search function on the site here and I typed in hotel, sandcastle, resort and nothing shows up. Is there something wrong with the search function or is it my computer?

Girl eh?

Seriously, Sandcastle isn't the greatest from what I've been told (I Haven't personally stayed there since the early-ish 90's when they were new). It's still probably better than most of the dumps on cleveland rd, and still on point is generally better than off point for ease of access.

Hope this helps.

Sandcastle is a pretty nice place. However, if the price is anywhere close to a LHP cabin or cottage or whatever, I'm sure Mr. Scott would gladly reccommend that.

It has its disadvantages, like the far walk back, the outdoor stairwells and its a little dated, but I think those can also be used as positive points as well.

Thanks guys you are so sweet.

I think Cedar Point didn't realize many of the schools were going back a few days before Labor Day.

Should mean short lines for us, hopefully.

The end of August is generally always dead.

Just like Ben is going to be after I get done with him. :aaaarrrgh:

j/p hi Ben :).

Sandcastle is really nice. I really liked staying there and the breakwater cafe had some great food. All of which I charged to my room.

The Gazebo was cool and I the views are excellent. Totally worth the price.

The Lighthouse Point Cabins & Cottages are better than all of other CP resorts, IMO. Click on my name at the top of this post and then click on "view MrScott's posts" and you'll see why I feel this way. Regardless of where you stay on Point, you'll have a great time!

It's a decent place to stay... and it's on point. It's quiet and well kept in my experiance. The Breakwater Cafe is arguably the best resturant in the resorts, and it's right next door.

But, it's a long way from the entrance. Breakers is still my choice because of location alone.

The search is broken here at PBuzz.

You can go to Google, and type in

site:pointbuzz.com Sandcastle Suites

That will give you the results for Sandcastle Suites, limited to this site.

The food there is okay, and the new menu this year sounds good. But, I've had three service disasters there over the past two years. I'm not planning to go back for a while.

Sandcastle is not aging well. It's serviceable, but if I need the space, I'd rather stay in a cabin/cottage, and they're comparably priced during peak season. If I don't need the space, I'd just stay in Breakers.

Next time I go I plan on staying at Lighthouse Point it looks great.

New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!

As appointed Mayor of Lighthouse Point, let me welcome you to the best time you will EVER have at Cedar Point! (Except the next time you stay there...stay once and you'll never stay anywhere else)

Mayor, Lighthouse Point

You convinced me it doesn't have that hotel look and lets you be in your own cabin or cottage. Just the atmosphere seems great and friendly.

'Tis. And much quieter than a hotel room, too. The benefit of grilling your own Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, steaks, Potatos, etc, is a cost save of eating park food or eating out all the time. Trust me, you will have a GREAT time!

PS: Bring an electric skillet if you are a breakfast person. Otherwise, Donut Time in the front of the park is good (take the shuttle). Starbucks coffee and fresh made donuts are a good substitute for eggs and bacon!

For breakfast, go in through the resort gate and ride your way up (making stops at Magnum and corkscrew before hitting the skyride) to get your donuts. Sure the shuttle's faster, but my way is much more fun.

Goodbye MrScott
