Salt Water Taffy Machine.

I seem to recollect one of those taffy pulling machines somewhere toward the front of the park. I think it was right around the sky lift"s south(front) station. I took my boy yesterday, and was going to show it to him, but couldn't find it. Am I way off course, or did they remove/relocate it? It's been quite a few years since I've even thought about that thing. But, I remember, as a kid, I was quite facinated by it.

Maybe you're thinking of the Taffy Box. It was located near the Marina gate next to what is now Amazing Pictures. Its last season was 1993.

Bummer. Thanks, Walt. That made me feel old. Wonder why they scrapped it? Just worn out? Or lack of interest, maybe? Oh, I know. They didn't want to pay a "skilled labor" wage to who ever would run it.;)

I don't think CP pulls taffy on-site anymore.

I'll bet sales are down somewhat as well, and they probably have no idea why...

No they dont pull taffy anymore, but the machine used to sit inside of sweets and treats near the front gate. If I am not mistaken, the machine is now at transport refreshments at disater transports exit.
I remember as a kid we always would drag mom and dad over there on the way out to see the taffy machine. We would end up buying a bag of course because we knew that it was made right there and it was fresh.

I wish it was still there. It was one of those things I never forget. Our traditional stop on the way out.

Thanks, crazy horse. Vince is pretty intrigued by how it worked, as I explained it. I'll have to check on it next time we go.

I sincerely thought that taffy was made on location at a food service commisary. The taffy is still wonderful! YUM!
