Sailing Charters?

Do you think CP guests would want to spend 4 - 8 hours on a nice summer day away from CP and the rides since they spent all their time and money getting to CP in the first place?

Not everyone wants to spend every last waking moment marathoning rides. CP being on the water provides a unique advantage relative to other seasonal parks. It makes sense to capitalize on that.

Normally I would agree with you about that. But not this time. cpfan69 makes the larger points in regard to this bad idea, and they’re not about the rides.
Sailing opportunities abound for those that are serious about learning the sport, have the time, and the money. I just can’t imagine Cedar Point wants to send customers away to a contracted vendor for that amount of time. Keep em in the park, at the resorts, or on those wave runners for a little bit.

Well, I do have experience on both sail boats and power boats. My first choice was always a power boat, sailing is fun if you have the patience to travel at 5 to 7 knots to your destination.

I don't want a second job at CP Sailing Charters, but if someone wants to bring a case of beer or a bottle of rum, I'm sure we can arrange a nice tour of Sandusky Bay and around the CP peninsula.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

^ Say no more. I'll be reaching out to you this summer for said booze tour. Hahah.

The line is forming. I wonder how long the line will be. :-)

If Pete is too busy, stop by Dock 1322 with said beer or rum, bourbon, scotch, etc and I'll serve as your backup option. I will also provide you with my complete Paddlewheel Excursion spiel. Or you can pay me extra to stay quiet. :D

Wait, Pete, have you ever been in a small sailboat before? Like a JY 15, laser, optimist, Pico or anything like that? Small boats can be fun with a crew and high winds. Always having to hike out, and having your hair touch the water.

These booze cruises sound like they're gonna be all the rage this year. Get out of the way Steel Vengeance!

I've tooled around in a Laser and a Hobie 16. Don't own any of those, at the mercy of friends who have them to let me use them. The Hobie of course is big enough for two or three people so it can be a fun day excursion. Sailed those on Presque Isle Bay. Around Sandusky I've been on an O'Day Mariner 19 and a Catalina 27.

My parents had a marathon sunblazer that we have to get rid of, but plowing through the waves was fun. In sail camp I did an optimist(a disaster, let me tell you), the JY15(what the intermediate uses), and I've done a Flying Junior.

Very nice. We should have a fork on Pointbuzz for everyone with boats at the CP Marina. Boatbuzz anyone? (not that boaters have a hard time getting buzzed)

Boatbuzz.... yeah that sounds like most of my weekend time between May and November :D I like the idea of that for sure.
