I was at the park this past saturday and was driving along perimeter road by MF. I saw a small sailboat of some sort beached on the shore, and a police officer was walking across the beach toward the boat, as if to get those people with the boat in trouble or something. Later on, we were driving back from Soak City along the road, and saw a tent with a gray covering on top it, and a few guys walking along the shore. The boat and the cops were gone, though.
Just wondering if anyone knew what it was....
For some reason never thought there was enough room for a boat to set next to the wall. But can't remember.

What wall? I am talking about a beach that is on the shore behind the boat marina parking lot. I guess not many people know it's there, but you can see it from the road. It faces the bay bridge that goes to marblehead/port clinton.
I'm not sure there's much of a beach there. From what I remember from my jet ski ride around the peninsula, it's mostly rocks. There may be about a foot of sand between the rocks and the water in the area you mentioned.
There is a small (emphasis on SMALL) stretch of sand, and some trees / brush between the northern end of the marina and where perimeter road comes right along the edge of the water if remember correctly from my jet ski rides around the peninsula (and all of Sandusky Bay and to Huron) and from my numerous visits to the marina when I had a season pass. (I believe there is a small patch of grass up there on the shore and some picnic tables too if my memory serves me correctly.)
Ralph, if I'm remembering correctly from my jet ski rides, the area Miss_Maverick07 is mentioning is mostly sandy on the bottom and the rocks start a little further up next to the shoarline mosly from what is dumped in to build up the break wall along the edge of perimiter road where the road runs right next to the watter.
(I've been close enough to the shore line in that area before when Millennium was new trying to get some photos that CP police patroling stopped on perimeter road to yell at me not to come on shore. )
I jet ski there every year and skiboioo7 is correct about the micro beach, only one picnic table though and its actaully for those who are parked at the small parking lot that is there, that lot is for people who have boats at the marina. I have actually beached my waverunner near sandcastle a few times to enjoy the beach itself but I do believe that it is frowned upon.
