Does anyone think that rust could ever be a problem or well maybe not a problem but does anyone at least think that rust could get bad on MF or can it not rust?¿ I'm not sure.

just ~50~ miles away from the greatest amusement park in the world!!
All steel rusts.. reguardless of what anti-rusting agent or paint that has been put on it, it WILL oxidize. It's a fact of physics. Just how LONG it takes is somethign they try to control.
I'm sure there is already rust somewhere on MF, there probably was before opening day, it's unavoidable.

ok,lets get a stainless steel coaster and save money on future paint costs.lol
oh what an interesting looking coaster that would be,if it were economical.

Stainless will still oxidize if not properly taken care of. And that means not subjected to outdoor weather conditions.
Take a stainless steel cookie sheet, put it outside today.. look at it in a year...

There's a difference between oxidation and corrosion. Stainless favorably oxidizes other elements in the alloy to save the steel, whereas normal steel will just rust and pit, weakening it structurally eventually.
Due to the fact that it is not an inverted coaster, rust will probably not be a factor like it was on Raptor when it was raining.
Rust is a factor on Raptor because the rails aren't painted. It has nothing to do with the type of coaster it is. B&M has since wised up and is painting the rails on all of their rides.
Intamin has been striping some of their newer track with that grey primer-esque stuff where the wheels make contact. I'll assume it's more durable. SFO's Batman has the same stuff. Interestingly enough, they didn't use it on the Impulse (Superman), but if I recall correctly it is used on Volcano and the new orange thing at Holiday Park in Germany.

In the construction photos on the official site there is a picture of really rusty bolts on a footer beside the 2nd tunnel. It inevitable, however, I believe all the bolts have since been painted blue.
I think what exMFATL was saying is that on Raptor the rust drips down towards your head, while on non-inverted coasters it doesn't!

A bad day at CP is better than a good day at work.
Exactly what I meant. I was alluding to the fact that it drips on your head when it rains. I don't think I worded myself incorrectly, but oh well.......Some one correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the blue stripe on the transfer track, kinda what you are talking about? When I was working there, it wasn't really high on my priority list of running the ride to find out if that's what it was or not. If anyone knows, thanks for the info!!
There was rust on a piece of track when it was in the Soak City parking lot.
