running out of room?

Think of all the possibilities that CP has, There are more things besides coasters. Build a boardwalk style version of 'downtown disney'. THAT would be a hit.

^ Yes i never understood why they never built onto the beach like a board walk connecting too the park similar to what GL used to be like..then maybe build some rides around there shops ect. that would be totally awesome. :)

Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27

Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini

Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-

I remember this being around ever since I got into the whole enthusiast scene.. first they surprised us by putting Dragster basically right on top of the midway, then again by taking out WWL and putting an incredible ride in its place. They've done it before, they'll do it again.

Personally, I maintain that there is a lot of room over on MF's island thing, if they wanted to tie in another ride in that area.

The is no room left at CP. They will have to start tearing down rides before they put in anything new. :)

TAER IT DOWN!!11!1!

2008 - Games (Area 3/Scales)
2009 - Games Supervisor
2010 - Season pass holder.

Are there really any established park that aren't running out of room? Though I hate to see ride like WWL go, I think it's fun to see the park transform as they find creative ways to fit rides in. Once you start looking and consider relocation or demolition of a few rides, there's all kinds of space.

I'd really like to see a floorless or a dive coaster put in somewhere, but for now I'm not worried about it. I love to think about what the future may bring, but for now I just plan to enjoy the newest coaster. Not every park adds a new ride nearly every season.

Yes I definitely think that they could start building on Millennium island and over that pond there and where paddlewheel excursions is and around their..over and stuff and back ..like a flying coaster over it..that could be an idea..but i hear the new owner is more interested in making it a " family" oriented park so we may not see big coasters anytime soon.

I'm too sexy for my harness!

They must be running out of room or they wouldn't have taken out that great castle thing with the ball pits when they built MF and moved the Giant Wheel.

Jerreus who is this "new owner" you're talking about?

Okay, now let me play devil's advocate for a minute.

Although it's true that there is a good deal of land remaining, much of it is locked in small tracts between existing attractions. Since, oh, let's say Raptor's installation (what was that, thirteen years ago?) Cedar Point has apparently found it necessary to use increasingly creative shifting of existing attractions to find room for new ones. Often, in the last decade especially, this has resulted in retirement or downsizing of existing attractions.

A sampling:

Raptor: achieved by eliminating Millrace.

Millenium Force: moved Giant Wheel (itself only achieved by demolishing Aquarium). And didn't this cut the boat ride in half?

Power Tower: (not positive, but doesn't this occupy the site of Jungle Larry's?)

Top Thrill Dragster: eliminated a bumper car ride, moved Troika and Chaos, resulting in closure of Schwabinchen.

MaXair: yanked out a row of game concessions to shoe-horn it in.

And Maverick, of course.

I'm sure that I'll get called out on a couple things, because I'm relying on my notoriously fickle memory. Nevertheless, I think there's enough evidence to at least rhetorically support the position that . . gasp . . . Cedar Point is running out of room.

I personally wouldn't say Cedar Point's running out of room. I would suggest that its supply of premium space is getting a little thin.

Dick Kinzel is retiring and there is a new guy taking his place and i heard that he believe it was a family oriented park so therefore im sure we wont be seeing anything HUGE soon.

What in god's name are you talking about? Quit making up crap out of mid-air, you've been on this website for a year now, have you been on a really long vacation?

i agree with ensign all new things will come in time and replace some less popular ride but unfortunatly most of us just want more and more new coasters to come. and unfortunatly it probably wont happen for quit some time. a coaster takes a lot of space and they dont always appeal to the whole family so we're probably going to be seeing a few thrill rides or even junior rides thrown in.

since the newest thing that will be torn down will most likly be the aqurium which is located near the kiddie kingdom so you do the math. not a perfect place for something big even if maxair is right down the street.

Not only is Cedar Point out of room, but apparently the park was recently sold.

Makes me wonder if Allen Funt is around here somewhere, though I'm sure the name dates me. :)
