Running From The Resorts...

Question for all you experienced CP goers. I will be staying at the Hotel Breakers, which says to have their own entrance to the park. Do they open that gate at the same time as the main gate to let people run to MF? Will the entrance in the middle of the park put me ahead of the crowd/bulls running towards MF?
I sure hope so:)

RRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!

I Love Millennium Force!:)
The gate they are refering to is the 'Magnum' gate.. and it's on teh opposite side of the park from MF.. You'd have to either go towards the front of the park past Power Tower and aroudn the turn or the other way and down Frontier Trail.

Either way.. you're at the absolute worst spot if you want to beat a crowd of people to the MF.

Great. Well at least I'll beat them to Magnum ;).
I hate to do this but...Since we are among friends...There is a gate at the SOUTH end of the boardwalk near the stadium formerly know as Oceana, right by Ocean Motion. I believe this gate does not sell any tickets...so if you have your ticket in hand, get there early and this will put you on the Midway well ahead of the "Running of the Bulls". The gate is directly acorss the Midway from The Marina Gate give or take a few yards.

Now remember keep it among friends;)

This is the one I owe for DCahill bringing Midway Market to my attention. (which is STILL the best value for the buck at the park...REFILLS ARE FREE:):)) *** This post was edited by Old Timer Tim on 5/30/2001. ***
Forgot about that gate, mainly because like you said.. they don't sell tickets.. I only use it for takign my cute ride op friends for walks on the beach as the day and they have it off...

For getting to MF, my choice would definately have to be the Marina gate. Not as spectacular, but MUCH closer!

"Forgot about that gate, mainly because like you said.. they don't sell tickets.. "

As of about two weeks ago, there was a ticket window there with a cash register. I assume that the DO sell tickets there...

Old Timer Tim... it's so secluded no one really knows it's there. It's one of the better kept secrets about Cedar Point.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
Well never having to use it except for beach access which usually results in a long walk aroudn the point.. and having a season pass.. I never noticed.. Never having to buy them there..

Screw laps: 13 and counting
They do sell tickets at the resorts gate near oceana....I bought tix there during my visit there two weeks ago. We stayed at Breakers, so it was convenient for us. Also, the shuttle will take you to other entrances (marina), if you like.

Have they been letting people through the main gate before 10:00am and holding them back with a rope or something? I want to know where that huge crowd comes from for the Millennium Marathon each morning...if they operated the front gate the way they operate the other gates, they wouldn't have a mob scene on the main midway...

Last year when they opened the gates at 9, they opened them a little bit early on Saturdays to let the masses in the park to the end of the South SkyRide building, and held them back with a rope and the "Group U" guys and security. After the National Anthem was over they undid the rope and the race was on. I watched it a few times from a safe spot near the bathrooms between the games and where Virtual Reality used to be. It was like the start of a cross country race. Sometimes I felt like I needed to bring a Starter's Pistol with me and fire it when the anthem was over!!
They do, in fact, sell tickets at the resort gate near Ocean Motion. One of my friends who came with me 2 weeks ago bought his at that gate.
Cheeseonastick: Do they let you roam up till the Sky Ride everyday this year?
