I just saw on the local news that the guy responsible for the route 2 crash over the summer was sentenced to 19 years in jail.
He was high on drugs(I think it was crack), and he was drunk at the time of the accident.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Good, serves him right. This accident shouldn't have happened and probably wouldn't have if it wasn't for his irresponsible decision.
Cedar Point rocks my socks.
Here is a link to a story about the accedent...........very sad.

Route 2 is crazy. Head on traffic at 60+mph and by the nuclear power plant that is always up and down. I'll take 80/90 and pay my $2.50

It's scarry that our state government is ignoring a road that's as dangerous as Rt. 2 has proven its self to be. That long stretch of two lane road is in dire need being widened. In this situation, the driver may have made a bad decision, but there have been plenty of other deadly crashes on that road that didn't involve drivers under the influence. When you're going 60 and have only inches between you and the oncoming traffic, there's no room for error.

Route 2 is a very dangerous road. Last summer I took it for the first time and almost got into an accident myself...i'll pay the $3 and take the turnpike so I can actually make it to the park and home in one piece...

I always take Route 2 in the morning on my way to the point. I never feel unsafe while driving it in the morning. At night, I always take the turnpike home. I'll gladly pay my $1.80 to get home safely at night. I took Route 2 home at night once and will never do it again. No lights on the side of the roads for miles and semi-trucks barreling down the road at unneccesary speeds. Something needs to be done to Route 2 to make it safer at night.
Route 2 sounds really bad. Here in Ontario we have out own "Route 2", we call it the 401. It goes from Windsor to Quebec. Locally it is known as Carnage Alley because of all of the accidents that happen on it. It is a 4 lane highway with only about a 10 foot median. Huge accidents happen all of the time and quite often they go right across the median and cause an accident in the other 2 lanes as well. Back in 1999 there was a huge 100 car pile up, about 15 people died and the fire was so hot that it melted the pavement and license plates. I feel safe when travelling on it although many do not.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
The sad thing is, it's all political BS. The government doesn't want to invest in Route 2 because they would lose travelers on the Turnpike. As long as Route 2 stays dangerous, they continue to make that extra money off people who are too afraid to travel it. Aren't politics great when you can chose to let people die if you want to make a little extra money off of their fears?
Sorry for the anti-government rant, but this sort of issue really gets under my skin.
