Looked like some welders were working on the back track. Started filming before the All-Wheels Extreme show started and the one guy waved down to us. Sorry about the shakey video. Did the ride ever open Wednesday? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-z6kHR_37I

Just cuz people were working on it doesn't mean there was something wrong. Every coaster has its down days.

Because they typically work on something that isn't broken...
Its a pretty routine thing for Wicked Twister to be welded and I'm sure it was mostly preventative stuff going on.
For the past 3 years I have noticed that the track closest to the stadium is loose. You can see it sway quite a bit in the wind. Anyone else ever notice this? I've never been afraid to ride it, but it doesn't look good when the whole track starts to move back and forth in the wind.
The structure is designed to give with the wind. It has to do that. Skyscrapers and bridges do the same thing. The eiffel tower at KI and probably the real one both do that. I have felt the one at KI do that on several occasions. But, on a windy day while waiting in line for WT it is fun to shout: "Oh my god, the track is moving!"
Peace, Mikey
If the track didn't move, it would snap, and trust me, that's a much worse outcome.
If you get a chance, go up to the top floors of the Renaissance Center on a windy day. Lay a coke can on the floor and watch it. It will roll back and forth as the tower sways. This will happen to any structure which is taller than it is wide.

"Tripod" structures do a lot less wiggling, like most of the modern hotels in Vegas, or in an extreme case, that new ridiculous skyscraper on Dubai.
I've never seen WT sway from wind, only from a train weighing many tons traveling up and down its track.

Wicked Twister reopened at appx. 1:30 yesterday. No need to worry about the spike swaying. As people have stated, it is designed to do that.

So I take it you were on it when it snapped last year. That's why we're trusting you? Ohh, and if I laid a can of Pepsi on the floor would it have the same effect?
We'll that's my sarcasm for the day.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I was there yesterday and Wicked Twister was running all day. Nothing was wrong.
