Has anyone else read this? It talks about how roller coasters can damage your ears and it mentions dragster, not by name, but says a roller coaster that reaches a maximum of 120 mph in four seconds. Check it out, i found it to be interesting.
my fav. rides:
1) Top Thrill Dragster
1) M-Force
1) Maverick
Only if you turn your head and your ear is facing forward on the ride. Your ear can't compensate for the change in pressure.
Henry Ford Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan. About 130 miles from Cedar Point. No mystery here, it's obvious the ride is Dragster.
The question is why would he turn his head?
There are probably other ways to injure yourself too if you are not going to follow posted safety announcements on coasters. There is a little discussion over here too.
Another bull crap message from the media trying to make a big story out of it. Safety spiels are made for a reason. this guy clearly wasn't following those rules
Next thing you know, diet pop is going to cause cancer. Oh wait I guess it does ;)

Ah WebMD. Every Dr's worst nightmare and giving everyone Hypochondriasis since it was launched.
Reading the article I'm finding out its not some B.S. study. Its just an article showing Dr's what may cause the problem. Although a very similar paper was posted in the New England Journal of Medicine some time ago. I'll see if I can find something other than the hard copy my wife has, but the article starts out with something along the lines of the problem being prevalent in riders who do not obey the guidelines set forth by the manufacturers and operators.
The only time that I've found a coaster to be painfully loud was the lift hill on Son of Beast.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
So why did they not do an artical on the damages of sticking your head out of your car window on the expressway? That could damage your hearing as well? ;)
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
My thought was if you can't turn your head on a coaster, why is it ok to Spin on Max Air. When at the side at 60 mph at the bottom, it dries my eyes out. - Maybe the harness block the ears from the wind, I don't know.
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Maybe I shoulden't cut the grass anymore. It could damage my hearing. Why don't they do an artical on that?

Anything can damage your ears if you try hard enough.
Anybody ever hear what's going to happen to Son of Beast this year? Is it going to be up and running this season?
Just another coaster junkie at Point Buzz
Son of Beast may open this year. But thats a big maybe.. Coasterbuzz had a report when they announced it would not open with the park in April, but may get it running soon.

Can you give me a source?
The last legit source that I saw said that it will be SBNO.

Also the lead article on the Son of Beast discussion mentions it could open later this year.
I personally doubt it. But you never know.
I really doubt it would open up this year. They already took down the sign box and it is not on the 2010 map.
