I just thought of a GREAT marketing strategy that will surely tease the new ride AND bring the cash flow.
Here it is: the park sets up 200 giant macaroni noodles around various points in the park and in a secret compartment in ONE of them is a speaker that plays a sound effect of Raven. Holy crap that giant of a tease gets me excited just thinking about it!!! GET ON THIS TONY!!!!!
(/s if it wasn't obvious enough already)
At some point, the powers that be at amusement parks will realize that spending money on these elaborate teases and games that only enthusiasts (all 37 of us) will appreciate adds exactly zilch to the bottom line, and all the fun and games will evaporate faster than you can say, "rollback."

I'm going to disagree with you a bit.
In regards to the Wall Of Coasters, I take it as a way to fill space on a fence that's in a prime position in the park that will (possibly) end up with promotional material for a 2016 attraction, rather than a tease for enthusiasts.
And relatively inexpensive teases and games for enthusiasts have their value. Enthusiasts are a small, small portion of the park's guests each season -- but we love to talk about coasters, we have friends, we have family, we have Facebook pages and Twitter feeds, and word of mouth is often called the best advertising.
I haven't been to NoCoaster in several years, but I always amazed by the amount of swag Jeffrey Seibert brought for attendees, no matter who he was working for at the time. (Somewhere, I still have the DVD with the Brady Bunch goes to Kings Island episode paired with that episode -- with him and his assistant PR person playing all the parts.) Clearly he was able to justify the expense.
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.
I picked up a quote from McClure at the latest 2016-Project meeting:
"The marketing effort we will do for this ride will be unlike anything the guests are used to at Cedar Point. I think they'll be really surprised!"
I don't completely disagree with you, Mike. That said, a fun teasing/marketing campaign could be done at very little expense utilizing Facebook, Twitter, and the park's own website. In fact, I would argue you could do it for almost nothing. What would they be spending the money on?
For whatever reason, Cedar Point just chooses not to do this to any great extent. What Holiday World did was fun...perhaps a bit too stretched out like an SNL skit that goes on for a few minutes longer than it should...but I see those little campaigns as a "nod", per se, to the enthusiasts that do follow them and would have fun with it.
Promoter of fog.
I believe he can also be quoted saying in the Rougarou Files that guests visiting the park would see themeing around Rougarou that isn't typical of the park. A lot of us are still wondering where exactly that themeing is. (:

No more Cottonwood trees either please. :)
The fluff that you see doesn't cause allergies, because those are the seeds, not pollen. The pollen made by the trees may aggravate allergies, but it's produced months before you see the fluff. If you think you're allergic to the fluff, you're actually allergic to something else.

Has anyone been able to confirm or deny the rumors of footers that were poured in the fenced-off area?
Rode the cable cars twice today and saw no footers. Chris

Anything is possible when you choose to make random stabs in the dark.
Stabs, as in rhymes with slabs, as in slabs of ribs, Famous Dave's ribs, Famous Dave's located in the marina, Cedar Point will remodel the entire marina and marina entrance along with whatever is coming to the park.
No... I cracked the code!
It's boxes of numbered RMC track. Did you not see the instruction sheet with diagram? They better get busy.

There are plenty of blurred out spots on the boxes in the blog post pictures. Very odd spots to blur something.
Or is that my eyes playing tricks on me...
