Roller coaster Database

I found this site interesting. If CP/MI Adv. is possibly going to build, I think it would be in this site here.

Have any of you ever seen/been to this website?

Yep, it's been used as information once or twice. ;)

It's a well known site used extensively by coaster enthusiasts.

My friend just sent that site to me, and an hour later, my aunt emailed me with the same site, was there a special on that I missed?

I honestly have never seen the site (okay, I feel dumb), so I was unaware of it. I used to be only a CP buff. No other amusement park mattered. Now I am getting out and learning what other parks have to offer. I thought this site was pretty cool and I wanted to share it in case any other entusiasts like myself have never heard of it. LOL... So far, I am the only one! YIKES.

RCDB has grown exponentialy over the years. From what I know, it was originaly started as a hobby. But do to it's extreme popularity, the owner could no longer afford the bandwith costs, and had to break down and put advertising on the site. Though it is a minimal ammount of advertising. They keep up on existing parks very well, and from what I've seen don't really post rumors. So if you see it there, you can pretty much take it to the bank.

The site is always growing forward and backward. If you have pictures or information on a defunct park and you don't see it on the site, feel free to e-mail them. I myself, have had a hand in several defunct park additions that I happen to come accross while searching the net.

Duane hosts the site from a server in his house. Last time I asked he had a fat DSL pipe. There isn't a "they" pre se, it's just Duane and people who contribute.

It's a great site. I've had it booked marked for some time now. It's very useful when someone on here mentions a coaster that I haven't heard of, just take a quick look up on RCDB and everything is there.

I didn't realize it was a one man opperation. It must consume a lot of his time.

I've used, and am still using, rcdb to map out several coaster trips. Usually 1 or 2 a year.

I give Duane A LOT of credit, kudos to him.

On a side note, I just noticed that there are 88 members online, the most I've ever seen but yet Sunday's seem to have the least amount of posting going on.

I discovered RCDB about a month a ago, and I use it all the time!

Vince982, (you probably know this) but there was another time when there were that many members on, and some one said it had something to do with the website not reloading. I believe it is happening again.
