Roller Coaster Appreciation Night?

Last year, my wife and I attended a roller coaster appreciation night (in the rain... but still had a blast!), and I was wondering if they were gonna have anything like that this year? Thanks in advance.

Aug.16 is National Roller Coaster Day. Haven't seen/heard anything from CP about it yet.

Last year's event was related to 2016 season pass sales, so maybe they'll do the same with 2017 sales.

Is National Roller Coaster Day an actual, yearly thing? And if so, is it always 8/16? Or is it just a Cedar Point thing?

Well that just about locks my plans for mid-August next year... There will be a total solar eclipse 8/17/17 that will be seen clear across the United States. The path of totality (full eclipse, day turns to night) will run through South Carolina. I think we are gonna head to Myrtle Beach for a few days, go to Carowinds for NRC Day on the 16th, and catch the eclipse on the 17th.

You might want to tweak your travel plans. Next year's total solar eclipse will occur on August 21, 2017--not August 17th.

Yeah my mistake. I even had it on my calendar as 8/21/17.
