Rollbacks

Who thinks rollbacks should occur more often? You know, so you could get the feeling of going 120mph backwards and not to mention being launched again. They (cedar point) should purposly cause rollbacks to make TTD more enjoyable and longer.

Adam G's my real name but you can refer to me as TTD freak.

What and reduce capicity of the ride, I dont think so.

I can't say no enough times. Rollbacks hurt capacity, the lines are long enough as is, they don't need to get any longer.

Eddy the retard is awesome.

Absolutely not.

TTD rides =35, Time spent waiting for those rides= 51 hours.
MF=85

Trust me.. they don't and won't cause them on purpose..

If they wanted everyone to get the feeling that comes with that ride, they would build one that does JUST that..

I'm in double digits on rollbacks and honestly.. while it's fun, it's an over-rated experience..

Double digits? That's a lot. Just wondering when did they all happen?
Robs right while I have had my share of them they are over rated. I only hope for a rollback when I know i'm riding with someone thats gonna freak out if it happens :)

Ok guys, you can stop rubbing it in about your rollbacks any time now. ;)

I rolled back on the last day CP was open in 2003. It was a different experience but an awesome one. As the train rolled out of the station, all 10 of us were yelling, "roll back, roll back". And to get one! We were the happiest people in the park. I think out of the 10 people, only 2 or 3 have ever had a rollback. Everyone in the grandstand was cheering us and people waiting in line along the fence where asking "how was it". You cant put a price on that.
Rubbing what in that I got paid to do 5 of my roll backs. :)

you got paid for your rollbaks?!?!? me too!!

seriously though. other than being able to talk about your rollbacks. the only real awesome part about it is the first moment you realize your not gonna make it. the train comes to a quiet stall, you look around in the chilly morning air, and then down you go.

for a better rollback experience i recommend front seat of wicked twister.

however! me and a bddy were talking about this, and he had a good idea. he said that if rollbacks just became a too natural part, then tell people that they might get them, and that counts as their ride. train rollsback "hope you enjoyed your ride, and have a nice day", load up the next 18 people. (i know there's obvious reason this won't work. i thought it was a neat idea though)

I had 3 rollbacks in a row once and while they are pretty cool, traveling back to the launch platform at 2mph is rather annoying. Rollbacks = not a good thing so should not be intentionally caused.

i agree with S2Kster, while they are fun the first few times, it wouldnt be fun much after that, especially that extremely long travel backwards towards the station.

What's the difference between a rollback on TTD and a ride on S:TE? Having ridden S:TE and finding it kinda fun, but not necessairally "all that" I would think that I'd find a rollback on TTD just as lack-luster.

Like it's been said.. it's that pause at the top, not knowing if you're going to make it over or not.

I found S:TE pretty damn boring when I rode it years ago.

I agree about S:TE. It doesn't even come near the top of the track anymore, and its not a 400' drop. That track is a good distance off the ground under the tower to begin with.

But then again, what do I know?

Not knowing whether you are going to make it over the top is part of the excitement. I wouldn't want to see a lot of rollbacks, but once in a great while does add to the excitement.
