Rollbacks

coolfun5688,
Unless Dragster is relocated to New Mexico, I will not be on the crew this year.

As for the second part, yes I was there, but your best chance of finding out about Dragster's "idiosyncracies" is to work the ride yourself. Knowledge is far more meaningful when you experience it first hand.

Your best bets for catching a rollback are to be on the first train: after morning test rides, after resuming operation from more than 30 minutes without a launch, after it has rained, just as the wind is starting to pick up, when it's cold and launch intervals are long, or when the previous 6 trains have all had relatively light weight people on them and your train has significantly heavier people..........

Is there any scenario(sp) that doesn't produce a roll-back?

Tambo,
Notice the qualifiying statement "first train." The ride learns from every launch, and constantly optimizes the launch pressure. As long as there isn't an appreciable change in weight, wind speed, temperature, or humidity between launches (and of course no mechanical issues), the train will clear the tower.

I had 6 rollbacks last year. 5 were early in the morning during a Travel Channel shoot for the park and the other was on Short's 100th ride. What a 100th ride, hey Shorty!

Thanks MARCOASTER, I enjoyed watching that.
I finaly got my first rollback today! lol

Anyway, there was plenny of rollbacks today to go around. I even saw a very rare 'double rollback', where the same train of people finaly made it over on the thrid launch.

How long were the intervals between rollbacks? It seemed really fast on the cleveland cam. I heard it used to be fifteen minutes last year.

.05.

The interval yesturday was pretty quick, as was end of last years season. (A few minutes or less). It used to take a LONG time to reset all the blocks.
I went to the park today and there was like maybe a few rollbacks. It was running fine all day pretty much except for a couple break downs. I waited like about 45 minutes around 11:30 when it broke down. So when it re-opened I didn't get on until 1ish. Then Later as they day winded down I only waited like 30 minutes to ride with no problem.
