Does anyone think a coaster like rockin rollercoaster, found at Disney/MGM studios at Disney World, would go well at CP? This is a wild ride and for those of you who have ridden it, you know exactly what i mean. For those of you who haven't, this is an enclosed rollercoaster that has several loops in the dark with very little light! Also, there is no lift hill, it thrusts you out into the first loop!
I could be mistaken but I think the layout of RnRC is almost identical to Flight of Fear at PKI...

Yes it is very similar, but different too. I have ridden both and I think Rockin' is better. It's faster and in less time it can speed up to speeds beyond outer limits. I think that it would go well at CP! It has those really cool neon lights of signs that you would see on the road, and you go through some! Plus it plays Aerosmith as you ride through the place!!
Hmm, anyone wanna gut out Disaster Transport and put in a RRC or FOF type of coaster? I'm not sure if I'd like that. I have a soft spot for DT, or should I say space pirates (ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHH), but CP could use a launched coaster. Oh well, I guess a launched coaster themed to space pirates would be a win/win situation.
Sorry, but this just aggravates me, it's "Rock'n'Rollercoaster". And I think it would work at CP. yep it goes 0-whatever in 2.8 seconds. Thats a lot faster than FoF. It is also very smooth, without taking out the OTSR... A lot better in a theming stand point, a whole experience. Just an overall better ride in my view.

I'll take a TA2K that's longer in duration. Rockin' is a great ride, but it is too similar to FOF. Cedar Point and PKI do not build similar rides until a sufficent amount of time has passed. For example...PKI built King Cobra in 1984. CP did not get a stand-up until 1996. PKI does not have a steel hyper or giga. CP does not have a wooden terrain. PKI does not have a true inverted. You get the point.
Gutting out DT would be impossible. The building DT is enclosed in was built for the ride, the ride was not built for the building.
Why... if they got a new enclosed coaster would they put it in the same spot as DT? That building blocks the view of the coast. IF CP went for enclosed coaster they would probably put it toward the back in a forresty area... as not to disrupt the beautiful view of the lake like they did w/ DT.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
Rock n' Roller Coast is totally different than Flight of Fear. Flight of Fear was designed be Premier and Rock n' Roller Coast is designed by Vekoma. Also the launch is faster on Rock n' Roller Coast.
I belive that Cedar Point officials liked Rock n' Roller Coast when they visited Disney last year.

Yep, Andrew is right. The brigade who went down to Orlando last year was very impressed with the ride. I've rode it, and thought it was pretty good, but would it be a good coaster without all of the themeing?

I think a coaster like the Rock'n Rollercoaster would work at CP as long as they kept the music. :)

Rock 'n' Rollercoaster would never work at CP, they can't keep themeing up on DT half the time, they'd never be able to support themeing on something like R'n'R! It's not a financially sound move for CP, Disney has the money to create and maintain these themed rides, sadly, Cedar Point does not.

Why have an indoor coaster when you can utilize the views you get on a coaster over looking the beautiful Lake Erie? To me a big plus is to be able to look at the lake while you are going up a lift hill. So I don't see CP building an indoor coaster but maybe a simulator some time in the future. One more thing you say Cedar Point doesn't have the money to create a ride that I would believe cost less than MF ? Also why couldn't they maintain the themeing they manage to maintain the 14 coasters and many other rides at the park ????? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

If they were ever to build a coaster like RR, they could do it behind the games area! Build a new complex for cash control and merchandise offices and they wouldn't even have to touch DT! The entrance could be next to DT refreshments. As for the themeing, keep it simple, you're going to fast on RR to pay attention anyway!!
Not entirely true, on RnR they make it so that the themeing is very visible when you're going at slower speeds. I'd say it's pretty hard to miss going through one of the O's in the Hollywood sign. And yes, Cedar Point may have spent well more on MF than Disney did on RnR but take into consideration that MF's cost was only the initial investment and only requires SOME matinence. RnR being an indoor coaster with themeing, requires more investments after the initial purchase to keep everything working like new.
