To promote interest = to talk about or having discussions.

Man what buzzkill. Hey there is a great name.... buzzkill
You of course can discuss pretty much whatever you like, so long as it stays on topic or follows the topic as it naturally drifts. But don't get all bent out of shape when people point out that you're only adding noise. And that's all "guess the final height" and "guess the name" discussions are - noise.

Ok you're right, it doesn't fit. Ok redundant, I get that. Nice ring to it though.
Meanstreak played off Bluestreak. What makes you think this won't play off the Mine Ride?
1. It only has a nice ring to it because it rhymes. Really.
2. Mean Streak played off Blue Streak because they're similar ride types. RMC Streak is not going to look or ride anything like CCMR.
So yeah, I don't think they'll play off of Mine Ride at all. Speaking of Mine Ride, citing a 48 year old roller coaster where the name literally describes said coaster, is not a non-conservative name.
Again, don't take this as me bashing you personally, but the wild guesses over and over again without any actual clues to go off grinds the discussion to a halt instead of actually spurring it on. In previous years, the guessing game was pretty brief because of leaked trademarks and other clues. This guessing just makes it feel more like gunslinging than shooting fish in a barrel.

Well... they kind of are, right? I mean, steel track on a wood structure means they're both hybrids.
Though I do think it would be a mistake to associate the two rides.
Brandon
I thought about that as I was typing. But the fact that they're hybrids is the only similarity. It would be like saying that Valravn and Iron Dragon are similar because they're steel. While that's true, they're completely separate ride experiences.
Blue Streak and Mean Streak, while both made of wood, also had similar trains and classic wooden coaster elements such as turn-arounds, air-time hills, etc. So the ride experience is way more similar between those two than would be between RMC Streak (or whatever) and Mine Ride.
Pointing out that someone's comment not related to Mean Streak in this thread as being noise isn't noise? Irony at it's finest.
Ok sparty 42. I got it. But I did state clues from the wanted posters to connect with my theory. But as DJ pointed out it's pointless to talk names and elements. With that said, then why would anyone post anything here, when none of us know the real name or all the logistics. Better hope the 16th they spill all the beans. Otherwise according to others here, we are talking about NOTHING for a long time . Thanks I have learned something here today. There are more important things in life: God, family and friends. Not useless back and forth arguments.
It's not pointless to discuss the marketing strategy, progress being made on the structure, etc. But throwing names out there without any real justification and only because of the "Wild West" theme, is relatively pointless. It doesn't actually serve the larger discussion about the project because it isn't based in reality.
There's a lot to talk about outside of names, in my opinion. I literally can't stop you from talking about it, but I'm just saying it really doesn't drive the conversation about the 2018 project as much as you think.
Someone said earlier in the thread they saw a third inversion being installed? I'd love to see some pics. Is it low to the ground?

RMC Streak photo update: if you talk marketing strategy, you are off topic. So to be "PC" we are all off topic. Should only be photo's here.
Maybe it's been said before, but all this forum is is to speculate right, but is it possible that the three posters represent three attractions? I know it's unprecedented for a Cedar Fair park to install new rides in addition to a new roller coaster, but considering that they appear to be going for a revitalization of the area as a whole (as we've seen in these big capital additions of recent years), maybe smaller older rides worth bringing back as Ouimet has discussed in the past?

The third inversion had ledgers installed over 2 months ago. I got from that inversion talk that there would be a fourth under the second and third hills.
CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium
Excuse the "Wonder Woman" coaster talk, but in the press release for it, they say:
"Among its three inversions will be a "180-degree stall," in which the train will roll halfway over and suspend riders for a few agonizing moments before it unrolls and returns them right-side-up. The stall inversion is a signature element of the coaster's designer and manufacturer, Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC)."
C'mon, RMCMS... you can still pull this off!
With regards to the above post, I feel like I will be a bit disappointed with RMCMS if there ultimately is no stall. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely grateful for this new coaster and it WILL be amazing. Just really want that stall to be in there.
