Ripcord

This seems to be a topic that isnt mentioned much. Did anyone ride the Ripcord, because I'm thinking of riding it this summer! Tell how it was, and what it's like.
I've never been on Ripcord specifically, however I have done a Skycoaster before. Kennywood's, to be exact, which is slightly taller than Cedar Point's.

This subject has come up a few times before, and each time I say the same thing: Do it! It's one of the most thrilling things I've ever done. There's a great description in the Rides section of this site, http://www.guidetothepoint.com/thepoint/rides/ripcord.asp more specifically. The first drop is outstanding. There's a slight pause between when the cord is pulled and you really start falling. That brief second feels like minutes, and then you plunge.

They're awesome... I highly recommend riding it.

As Lynch, I too have riden Skycoaster at Kennywood and was absolutely terrified. Although, I think I would do it again if given the chance. I'd say, DO IT!
Ripcord was terrifyingly great, but I don't know if I'll ever do it again! (3 times flying by myself) The anticipation is superb, but don't go if you have a weak heart! *Grin* Personally, I'd love it even more if it was facing the other way so you could see into the park when you're dangling up there.

This past summer I rode the Skycoaster at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, which I believe is taller than both Kennywood's and Ripcord. How can I put the feeling into words? It is incredible, by far the biggest thrill I have ever encountered. It also is great if you want to get that "feeling" of your stomach all screwed up. While it is very expensive, it is well worth it. And it really does feel like you are going to hit the ground, especially in that first second just after you pull the cord when there is still slack in the cable. Riding it alone (the rest of my family aren't the biggest thrill seekers) made it even more scary!

I was going to ride the one at Kennywood last year while at KennyKon, but it was shut down because of the threat of lightning. I WILL ride it this year though.

*Dude, Where's my car?*
Yes, I went on Ripcord closing day. It was awsome. I thought it was intense and I thought we would never stop rising. It makes me want to ride a certain 300 foot one in Kissime.
