This is a question for anyone who has been on RipCord. I've never been on it due to being with people who don't have enough money or not enough time. I've always wanted to ride it but was wondering if it was worth the price and how fun it is. And does anyone know what the new price will be this year? *** Edited 4/29/2006 12:40:30 AM UTC by matt1027***
Rip Cord is cool, one of those things you have to try at least once. I went on it with both my kids a couple of years ago, it was a lot of fun, but I don't think I would spend the extra cash again any time soon. I get more of a thrill from the coasters in the park.
First trip June 23rd
I went on it a couple years ago. As Grady said it is worth the money to ride it once but it isn't something you would want to do a lot. It is a great thrill, you can kind of compare it to riding power tower down, but more intense. But yeah I would say it's worth the money to ride once and if you are thinking about it you should definitely give it a try, but not an every trip thing. Hope I helped. :)
Arms down, head back, and hold on.....
This is actually one of my favorite rides at the park, although I have only been on it twice. This ride can provide you with a thrill like no other at CP. It sort of has a feeling of not being safe. Once you put the suits on and get in "flight mode" it really feels like there is nothing keeping you safe from hitting the pavement. The scariest part of this ride is the anticipation of dropping 150ft but after you pull the cord it is just fun. I would recommend this ride to anybody and I think that it is definitely worth the money. But like previously stated it really isn't something that you'll want to do a lot.

Good ole' Ripcord......When I worked at the Go-Karts in '02, all us employees were used at test dummies on Ripcord at the beginning of the season. My first day on the job, I rode ripcord 6 times, and several more times throughout the season. Scared the heck out of me each and everytime, but I loved it!! I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

Very true!
Rip Cord is well worth the money! (And is cheaper then most Skycoasters too). For all the times I have done it, it is still exciting everytime. No two rides are the same. I know what to expect when I ride Magnum, but its different with Rip Cord. The quote above says it best.
I did it once with a ftiend late last season. Talk about one BIG rush!

I haven't ride RipCord at Cedar Point, but I did a similar attraction at PKI, which was much more cheaper. With one friend, it was only 10$/person rather than 22$/person for two at CP. It would be great to ride it for a lower price.
I have been doing the RipCord every year I have been going to CP. The price is not a factor when I want to ride it because it is a very great thrill ride. If anyone is thinking of riding it I would strongly recommend them to. To me the RC is the scariest ride I have ever been on.
RIDE ON, and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON...
.... not to mention when you're 150 feet in the air looking down at the pavement, it looks a whole heck of a lot further than that......You think skycoasters is loving the publicity they're getting from this thread?.....
Even after working RipCord for a whole season, and riding it nearly every day, I still find it to be a huge rush. Although it is fun to go with your friends, being a solo flyer, and just hanging up there by yourself is so great. My favorite moment of the ride is the instant you pull the Ripcord and feel the flight suit let go of that back tower... What a ride...

I'm pretty sure I'm going to try it this year. It has always caught my eye but I have never gotten to it. Yup. This is going to be the year.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I actually don't know if I'll want to ride it each day or a lot since I am a RC Crew Member this year :s

You can read about my Ripcord experience here. I'll probably never ride it again thanks to that experience.
For what it's worth, I hopped on SFoG's Skycoaster last weekend at Spring Fling and had the time of my life with a totally awesome crew.

You wont find this summers Rip Cord crew to be anything close to that crew you mentioned. For that past few summers, I would say the Rip Cord crew has been one of the best for guest service.
I've always been kind of curious to ride RipCord but I've never wanted to pay the extra money to do so. I'm sure its a bit like sky diving so I can imagine the rush would be quite awesome.
On a side note, Dang Michael! That thread took me awhile to read! lol

Man... that post brought back some bad memories... I am still proud to say I was a member of that crew... Im not proud at all of the negative actions of some who made guest experiences so sour...
I do think it was funny that Danielle was praised so much in that thread, and what do you know? She became leadership on Ripcord that next year :)

We just went to exchange our certificates yesterday and afterward we went to walk on the boardwalk. The sign on the ripcord building said $30 for one rider and $44 for a second rider. If I remember correctly that is a lot cheaper than last year.
