Rip Cord

Has anyone tried Rip Cord lately? We decided to go on Rip Cord Monday night at 5:30 pm. I have been on Rip Cord before and was accustomed to the whole thrill of the ride. I have no complaints about the experience or the workers who worked the ride they were all professional and did their job well. We decided to purchase the video, and much to our surprise we were very disappointed. For $12 we got horrible camera shots and at the end of it, what looked like the camera operator was attempting to adjust the lense with his hands. What I remember from our previous videos we purchased from RipCord was a intro of Cedar Point, the camera operator said all of our names and attempted to be interested in our experience on the ride. I may just be picky, but I am quite embarrased to show this to other people. If any one has hade the same thing happen to them let me know!
As far as I know...they do let you see the video before you purchase it. I have not however been on Ripcord yet this year so I don't know if they have previewing still available. Also the last video I did purchase had the intro with specs and whatnot so I don't see why they didn't have it on yours. Maybe an op having a bad day?

Yes...they still have the preview before you buy. I have watched several people get their video's from Rip Cord this year.

Let's play "Find the one-legged seagull"

Let them know you don't like it. The next time your at the park, head over to Public Relations/Park Operations (whatever it's called) and let them know about the video's poor quality.

The reason that there is no Cedar Point intro could be because Kamens Art Shopes do all of the video this year instead of merchandise. They seem to be taking over a lot at Cedar Point;)

I rode ripcord last week and when we got off we were told that "the camera screwed up" and they could not provide us with a video or even a clear enough image for a snapshot.

Oh well...

I fool so feelish...

I've never rode it, sadly. But in 2001, I went with my class (yes, my friend and I convinced the teacher). A couple of my friends rode it and got the video. It was a pretty good picture. =|

Courage is not the absence of fear. It is over comming it.

My brother was there last week and got the video, There was no intro and the video was ok. I have never been on it , so do they use a tripode or just hold it in there hands because it wasn't to steady.

The way I put it Six Flags needs more parks to keep up with the one and only Cedar Point :)

We rode the Ripcord on August 17 (my third time, my brother's 2nd time, and my stepdaughter who's 6 first time) and we too were disappointed with the quality of the video. No into, our names were not mentioned, and part of it was out of focus. We still purchased it, becuase it was my stepdaughter's first Ripcord flight. Big disappointment from the video we purchased last season.
I rode Ripcord years ago, and previewed the video. We didn't purchase it due to the poor quality of the video (couldn't make out our faces at all).

The person handling the camera needs more than just adequate skill to be able to capture the fast drop and swing accurately. I've seen some videos that were wonderful. We just got unlucky, and I'm not about to do it a second time.
