I think this should be posted here. Just in case there's some here who may not follow Coasterbuzz.
So sad to hear. His legacy will live on.

What he has designed and left behind for us to experience every time we ride one of his rides...It really puts a perspective on my job now and I'm proud I got to work something that will be left in his legacy
I've enjoyed working and riding one of his creations (Magnum XL-200) to the point of obsession and it was an honor to hear him speak at Coastermania 2009. RIP Mr. Toomer.

If you rode a coaster that went upside-down at any point during the 80s or early 90s, chances are Mr. Toomer was involved. He designed almost one third of the coasters at CP, and they continue to be among the most reliable and efficient rides in the park.
His legacy touched, and continues to touch millions, whether they know it or not.
RIP to one of the true greats.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
I remember watching Ron Toomer in a roller coaster video as a kid describing what went into designing Magnum. I admired him so much and wanted his job so badly at the time.
I have thought about him many times when riding Magnum over the years, and I wish I had seen him speak at Coastermania 2009. This was so sad to see and a wake up call of how fast time is flying. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on through his creations.
