riding Millennium Force for the first time....

My family will be going to CP this summer and so far the only park I've ever gone to is King's Island, so I've obviously never ridden anything of the....magnitude...of Millennium. I was wondering just how intense it is for a first timer (lol the tallest coaster I've ever been on is Son of Beast...And it's like 100 feet shorter than Millennium...) and I just read a topic about people blacking out on the ride...Is that common?

You'll be fine, MF is nothing compared to SoB.

I wouldn't say that. MF is no where near as rough or painful as SOB but it is a ten times better ride.

Exactly. If you survived SOB, then you will totally enjoy Millennium Force. I've never blacked out on it, but I've never had a problem on any coaster.

Enjoy your trip, and be sure to let us know what you think of Cedar Point!

Millennium Force is the smooooothest roller coaster there is :-), enjoy your first ride on it.

You will love it, remember that when you are running out of the exit to get back in line. :)

^ First time I rode I did the exact same thing.

New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!

You will thoroughly enjoy it. On MF you can actually enjoy the bottom of hills without worrying of hospitalization. ;)

Thrills Around the Corner!

My first time on MF, it seemed like I couldn't stop screaming for ten minutes. It'll change your religion.

Geezzz I wish people would get over this SoB thing lol...I'm not saying it wasn't awful for people to get hurt, but it was a freak accident...Poor Sonny :(

You'll Love it. But one thing you probably should do is cover your mouth when your screaming. I ate about 10 bugs the first time I rode it.

Oh, and if you're towards the back, beware of flying change. It always seems that there is unsecured change in someones pocket that ends up not in that pocket by the bottom of the first hill.

Actually, I wasn't even referring to the accident. I was talking about a normal ride on SoB! I was joking- hence the wink in my earlier post.

Thrills Around the Corner!

Well I assumed it was a joke...well...sorry, I wasn't upset or anything-hence the "lol" in my earlier post.

No it's okay. I knew you weren't upset, I just wanted to make sure you knew I was joaking.

I've never had a problem with loose change on MF, but I always have to dodge flying quarters on Magnum. Especially inside the tunnels.

Thrills Around the Corner!

Wait for the front car! You'll only have one first time, make it special. :)

My favorite ride. Awsome coming over the first hill into a overbanked turn into a tunnel. You got to love it. You will most likely get nervous but it's worth it. I love it!

Don't worry about anything. You'll be fine and you'll love the ride! PROMISE!!

The first time I rode, the tallest coaster I had been on was only 200 feet. I didn't black out once. I didn't even grey out.

Its an awesome coaster and you'll have the ride of your life.

Have a good trip! Let us all know what you thought of the coaster when you get back!

The airtime seat is 5-1. I can babble on about my first ride but I'll just copy it from the first time. My first ride on MF on 1-2 parkside. I remember going up the lift which felt vertical, then seeing the strobe light for aircraft. Then I gripped the bars on the seat on your sides and just going over the top. It was my dad's first time and he was just yelling YES! YES! then YEEEEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!! all the way down while I was screaming like a little girl. It was the best drop ever. Then I remember my mouth drying out from the wind and the constant g's all the way to the airtime hill then the airtime hill which felt like forever and was perfect 0 gs all the way through. The best part of the ride. Then most of the time I was screaming, not like a little girl but like a man, then I don't remember much after that. I remember going into the second tunnel and the unsuspecting camera flash. then the hop that goes right next to the station. Then I remember being in the station and when the guy asked how was your ride I screamed "The best moment in my life!" I remember getting off and seeing my brother at the gate (he was too scared which is wierd because he's older) and I was just smiling for the next half hour till I got a headache from MS. I have the On ride photo from my first ride on MF. My brother finally went on the second day and it's his favorite ride. Mine is MF and will always be.

Also dont worry about the black out thing. It's a bunch of stuff.

That was my first ride. I suggest going to the airtime seat which is the fifth car, first row. although I went on 4-2 and 5-2 and didnt notice a difference so don't worry if your off a row. Also front seat isn't a bad idea I remember going over the drop in 2nd seat and seeing nothing but a tiny blue strip of track at the very bottom. Nothing compares to Millennium Force. I get butterflies talking about it. *** Edited 7/13/2006 2:36:04 AM UTC by Turbo Jaw***
