Ridiculous locker policies...

What is up with only being able to use a key in the lockers once? When I was at CP the other day I used the key to put something new in the locker because I forgot to put it in there before and once I put the key in it locked the key in the thing and I had to pay AGAIN to keep my locker.

They could at least warn you that the door is only to be opened once...

I thought the directions do mention that?

Hmmm...

Maybe they do and I didn't see?

They do. But there are all day lockers in the park near the entrance ($5 small, $10 large), so if you're going to access a small locker 3 times or a large locker 4 times, the all day lockers are a better value (not taking into account the inconvenient location of the all day lockers).

Oh ok, I was using the ones over by Thunder Canyon. I remember seeing that they "weren't all day lockers" or something like that but don't remember seeing you can only open it once.

What would prevent someone from using them all day if they weren't single use?

There would be a way to do it with electronic lockers. But, it wouldn't be easy with their current set up. Do any of the Cedar Fair parks have electronic lockers?

I believe GL's Wildwater Kingdom has electronic lockers. But I never use them.

I just hide my stuff. :) Bushes are for all day rentals. :)

If this way Facebook, I'd totally like your post Your Mom, haha. With how they gouge you on everything else, you have to do what you have to do to save a penny!

That said, I do think Cedar Point deserves a little credit for putting the bucket rack over by the Thunder Canyon entrance. I mean, most people do have stuff that they'd like to set aside for the water rides that has very little value to anybody else, and really isn't worth stuffing into a locker, and for that stuff (mostly shoes) the bucket rack works pretty well to reduce the midway clutter.

As for the single-access lockers...every coin-op locker I have ever seen works that way. Being able to open the door without it costing you another coin to remove the key is standard for that type of locker, I don't care if you're in an amusement park, gym, bowling alley, airport, train station, or...whatever. All-day lockers where you collect a key from some check-stand are the exception, not the rule!

Have to agree with Dave on this one. Every park, mall, whatever I have ever been to once you put the key back in the locker, you have to pay to use it again. This is one of the times when parent swap and a 4 year old come in handy, don't have to rent a locker when we ride.

My car is my locker at CP.

And it's free! Each and every time...
