Rides still closing early

As seen on the policies page:

Ride lines are closed early so that the ride is closed at the posted park closing time. Due to maintenance and other circumstances at certain times, some rides and attractions may not be open to the public.

Did GL always close the lines early. I don't remember it being that way the last few times I visited GL in the 90's. I thought CF would at least extend the courtesy of rides open until closing time.

You beat me to that!! I was just gonna say something, that's insane!! I guess the youngins can't work that late, or what?!? :)

Is there some kind of curfew out there in Aurora?

Ah this angered me too. Six Flags was famous for this with it's rides. It would have horrible capacity and an hour line going on XF and close the line down at 9 as opposed to 10 to get them out in time. Err...
Yeah, that is really kind of crappy. One of my favorite parts of Cedar Point is running to a ride on the other side of the park just before closing time, but now at GL, you really have no idea when the line closes.

Ah I love that! Power riding Maggie and then running to MF for one more final plunge into the dark abyss right at 11!
It is probably two issues.

First, a young workforce that doesn't live on the park proper like at Cedar POint.

Second, the Aurora and Bainbridge citizens (as well as Solon, Streetsboro, etc folks) who don't want to listen to the rides until 1:00 in the morning or don't want traffic jamming their rodes until the wee hours.

Over the course of a season I am not sure how many times the lines would be so long so as to consider this a real issue. Not many I'm sure.

I can't see the area jurisdictions being an issue. After all even the longest line in the park is an hour or less. And that would be for only one or two rides. I think the policy is in place from the cheap old SFI days and CF doesn't want to be to hasty in changing things.
Yeah... If CF gets those rides up to capacity (I can't see them NOT getting them up to capacity), you're not going to have a huge long line like with SF... Literally 2x the capacity or MORE... mmmm

The longest line with SFI wasn't more than an hour so (besides X Flight).

That's really, really lame, but I think Wahoo's speculation about minors working is probably the reason for it. Until (or if) they can get to a college-age requirement, I don't expect that would change. Still, it was one of my chief issues with the park under the prior ownership.

What time does the water show start?

Holiday World closes lines early because of the issue with minors. It's not an uncommon thing for that to happen at parks.

Ride lines WILL NOT CLOSE EARLY. The line will shut off at park closing.
It looks like they removed the "Ride lines are closed early so that the ride is closed at the posted park closing time." Line on the site.

I wonder if that means "Lets just removed the line on the site" or "Maybe we should change this"

Eddy the retard is awesome.

Maybe they got enough college students this year to keep the lines open. Maybe I am not the only one who decided to apply there only after the aquisition was announced.

EDIT: Or maybe they just saw this thread, and decided to take down the statement, so we enthusiasts (who are great for advertising and PR) don't get the wrong impression.

We all know a certain general manager who has been known to read stuff here. :) Of course, I can't imagine he actually has the time for that anymore!

Uh, GM, not whatever Rob is doing. GM as in Bill Spehn. He made reference to GTTP at CoasterMania or something a year or two ago.

OK. I was also making a reference to the thread since people were speculating what it is that Rob is doing over there. Or does in general. And for some reason I only saw manager not general in front of it! D'uh :-)
