Rides CP has had more than one version of over the years

I know there have been at least 2 Calypsos, 2 trabants, at least two tilt-a-whirls and maybe 2 scramblers. And on a bigger scale they have 2 sky rides adn 2 wild mouse coasters. And the current Wildcat replaced and older model that was sent to Valleyfair.

And? Are you asking for more or just letting us know?

Let's Get Weird.

Multiple log flumes.

Yes Does anyone know any more rides that there may have been 2 different versions over the years? I just remembered that their was 2 different rotor rides.

I think they only had the one (Chance) Trabant. Schwabinchen (Mack Hully-Gully) was a completely different ride from a different manufacturer.

The two Wildcats has already been mentioned. Does Paddlewheel count as two, or as three? Western Cruise was completely changed around in 1987, then I think it was '95 or '96 that the boats were replaced.

Does Sky Ride count twice? At some point, 2-pax gondolas were replaced with 4-pax gondolas, and then when the Frontier Lift was taken out the gondolas from that ended up on Sky Ride.

I don't think anybody has mentioned the Dodgems yet. The current ride was "Dodgem 2", which is odd because it predated Dodgem 1, suggesting that over the years they've had at least three sets.

Along the same lines, how about two tracks on the Turnpike Cars, plus the Cadillac Cars and the Antique Cars. Is that 2 + 2, or is that 4? Or is it 5? In 1994, the Turnpike Cars were reconfigured and some of the cars were sent to Dorney Park. Just before that time, a fleet of new cars was purchased, so there are some old cars and some new cars on the ride. Well, assuming that a 15-year-old car can be considered "new".

Of course, even today the park has two carousels. They used to have four *at once* and that isn't even counting the Racing Derby.

If you want to get really confused with this exercise, start going through the kiddie rides, and notice how many are available both in Planet Snoopy and in Camp Snoopy.

Well, since you're clearly being vague...

They have had over 100+ rides, and 20+ coasters! Imagine that! :)

They had three when both Dodgems where there prior to TTD construction: Dodgems 1 & 2, and the Krazy Kars up in Kiddieland. I know, not really an apples to apples comparision.

Help me out. Kiddieland Carousel, Main Midway Carousel, Frontier Town Carousel, and...??? Which am I missing, and I know I'm not counting Cedar Downs.

Sadly, they used to have more than 1 dark ride (earthquake/pirate ride) operating at the same time, and now have zero.

There was another kiddy carousel in between where maxair is now, and the games area. It was a really small ride. Just a little bit bigger than those merry go rounds you would find out in front of a k mart.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Mini golf - Old course was located on site of current Planet Snoopy, now in Challenge Park. More of an attraction than a ride though.

Just say no to trims

There have been at least six different railroads over the years.

1. Service railroad that ran from the docks to the hotel
2. Kiddie Land Train
3. 1865 Train (ran from Antique cars to Western Cruise docks)
4. Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad (which the line has been altered several times)
5. Berinstein Bears train
6. Planet Snoopy train

If you included similar rides that ran on tracks, you could count the monorail as well as the little hand pump carts for children.

Rideman / Shivering Tim - there has been three sets of full sized Dodgems at CP. The original Dodgem was near the front gate next to Centennial Theatre. I think the photo booth is there now. It was still there in 1970 when Dodgem II was introduced as part of the Million Dollar Midway. Then Dodgem I was moved to a new location back by the Witches Wheel. It went away (actually was moved to MiA) when Dragster was built so now all we have left is Dodgem II. That's how that happened.

I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74

How about Planet Snoopy and Camp Snoopy? Need I say more.......
