Riders Per Hour

I hope I am not discussing a topic already made, but I was wondering what the Riders Per Hour would be? Would it be more since the ride is shorter than MF?

I imagine thats ride employees will be working their rears off getting maximum ridership on it.

1500pph and its 100 less than MF. MF is 1600pph.

The Riders Per Hour is 1500 rph. That is pretty good. But it'll change to 4000 rph if my Chinese chickin flys to Nebraska.
Millennium Force was announced to be 1,600 PPH, but I've clocked it and never seen it do better than 1,200 PPH. The ride is shorter than Intamin expected, I think.

Dragster, on the other hand, should not have any trouble reaching its 1,440 PPH target (same as Corkscrew and Blue Streak, BTW) if the launch and the trains all work right...the added buffer of two blocks between the station and the launch should make the dispatches just a little more regular.

Thanks for the answers guys.
If its anything like Xcelerator it'll be 45% of its estimated capacity. 1330 is WAY too high for Xcelerator. Anyways, after the downtime, the ride will probably only be able to eat 12K people per day. Its just that bad.
I don't understand how a ride with SIX trains will have the same capacity problems as a ride with two, sometimes one train.

Aren't you just a pessimistic poopy pants.

They'll hit that number, no problem.

There's nothing saying that Dragster will use the same exact launch system design as Xcelerator. Sure they're similar, but they probably redesigned the system to take into account the issues out at KBF in order to reduce the downtime problems. If the ride reliabilty is high, then 1440 is achievable.

I agree with Shivering Tim...since the actual launch does not happen in the station, obviously they are going to be able to load more people in as the first train is waiting to be launched. This should drastically help to increase PPH.

There is no doubt in my mind that they will hit the 1500 pph on Dragster, maybe even a few more. If they launch every 40 seconds, that give the ride ops 80 seconds between train pairs to "service" 32 passengers. The ride ops at Magnum seat 36 passengers about every minute and do it quite comfortably. I don't think you can make a valid comparison to MF's capacity because CP has obviously chosen to have the train location rather than loading time dictate the ride cycle times. The trains are held for longer than necessary in the MF station because they have to wait for the preceeding train to complete its run. They could release the MF trains 15-20 seconds quicker if they wanted to. But I imagine that has been discussed before. Anyway, to hit 1500 pph they need to handle 2 trains every 77 seconds. Considering that is more time than is required on Magnum with more passengers (36 ea vs 2 @ 16 ea) and the fact that the first Dragster of each pair can be released after it has been checked, I don't see a problem with Dragster hitting the capacity target. 80 sec per pair of trains gets 1440 pph, 77 sec gets 1500 and 72 sec gets 1600. As you can see, it doesn't take much of a time difference to change the capacity by 100 pph or so. Since they said capacity will be "approximately 1500 per hour" maybe they will be on the high side. I think the big questions are where on the track must the last train be before the next one launches, and how long will it take to get there?
Actually, I think the reason for the wait on millenium force between launches is because there are no blocks throughout the ride, so they have to wait until the train reaches the end of the circuit and the first brakes. Of course I think they could stop it on the lift if something were to happen, but I'm no roller coaster engineer. With six trains and such a short ride time, dragster will no doubt hit its predicted capacity.

About stopping a train on the lift, read my previous post in the Millennium Force section under "blocking".
