Ride status?

The rides now are significantly more complex than during the days when, let's say, Magnum was new. More down time doesn't surprise me.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

So fare seems like everything is up besides dragster. Maybe wind was an issue yesterday? I know the sky ride was closed and now its open today. Not sure if they close Gatekeeper or Raptor due to high winds, but they are also open today

Yes, those can go down for wind and usually are on windy days. It was pretty windy yesterday in Northeast Ohio where I live. It could've been worse up there right off the lake.

When I was there Tuesday & Wednesday TTD was down each day. From my observation point on Power Tower drop side both days I saw maintenance workers, maybe 7 or 8 (not ride hosts) at the cement area just before the incline. There is some sort of mechanical building at that area, not sure of it's purpose or if it is related to the problem.

Ah ok that makes sense than, didn't think those two coaster would be effected by the wind

Dragster is open!. Listed as a 15 min wait

Any new updates on dragster? It's been listed as closed on the coasterqueue website but that's not accurate a lot of the time.

A friend sent me a picture in the 9pm hour last night. It shows TTD's mechanical building open and gated off. A forklift was positioned outside with its boom extended into the building and out of site above the hydraulic motor.

Obviously, issue's are afoot and not with the footers!

TTD blew a motor. End of discussion.

Not if I keep talking.

Ironic how it and Volcano both blew motors at roughly the same time, isn't it? Volcano is waiting on a shipment from Intamin. Maybe Dragster is/was too?

Completely totally different motors.

ROUNDABOUND.

Omg, TTD & Volcano the Blast both blew a motor? I know different motors like as mentioned above but just wow. I know that stuff happens like Pete mentioned in another thread, but after Maverick's heart line issue/late opening, STR issue and now this, I can see why Cedar Fair (possibly) wouldn't want to work with Intamin.

I'm certain nobody on here knows for sure but has this happened before and does anyone know a ballpark idea on how long it takes to replace? I'll be there in 2 and a half weeks. It's my first trip to cp in 9 years and I've been looking forward to it for a long time. It's gonna suck if it's down the whole time I'm there.

Well, if it's the same timeframe as Volcano, assuming the parts are coming in on the same shipment, it could be 2-3 weeks. Possibly more. The person I talked to at Kings Dominion was very helpful when I asked him, saying the train was unable to be moved because of the LIMs basically dying, so the ride has been down for 2 weeks as they're waiting on parts from Intamin. However, Dragster has also been pretty much down for that same time frame, so it could open as soon as next week.

Just got back from my trip. Got to the park after 4pm on tuesday. TTD opened around 6/7pm. Got in line waited two hours, got to the platform and it went down for the night. Wed was at the park all day. TTD was closed till about 6pm, tested for about 45mins. Got in line with the fast past, at the platform again. They launced one train about half full, second train half full, launched and made it ALMOST half way down the track. Thing is from what I saw, it launched and the brake fins where still up. After that it was done. Walked by the motor room later wed night, door was open and it STUNK of hydrolic fluid. Looks like they already had parts of the motor pulled off and hanging from chains and as i was waiting they pulled the fork lift in. Thursday they had the trains pulled back out into the station so we thought maybe they fixed it since they also had the crew sitting at the entrence all day but it never opened and as we walked oit at closing they where back in the motor room with the fork lift

.

This trip was my first trip in 10 years and was pretty bummed we didnt get to ride it. It was my soon to be wifes first ever trip to the park and I was hoping to show her how TTD is way better than KK lol

Thanks for updates. Tentatively going to CP second week of August. My boy will be devastated if TTD still down. Devastated to the point of possibly rescheduling. Will be watching thread closely. Thanks!

Yeah we where pretty bummed out since we dont know when the next time we will be back :(

Seems like it's been a tough season for Dragster, not just the past couple days. I'm hoping it gets worked out soon, my trip to the Point this year won't be the same without a front row run on it.
