Ride Soundtracks

Looking at previous posts I notice that most ride soundtracks are techno or electronica for example "Ready to Go" and the Millenium Force song. Don't get me wrong they are pretty good songs but I was just wondering why I don't hear of any hardcore songs for their hardcore rides for example "Linkin Park". I just think it would go better with the theme.

haha, linkin park and hardcore songs in the same statement.

Whatever, btw Metallica is just a bunch of washouts and there newest album sucked.

Their latest album was their best in 10 years. And I'll agree with him on Linkin Park....not hard....

Metallica is one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Granted, the last album was not the greatest.

And why are they washouts? Is it because they want to make some money?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I think a band needs to know when to give up and Metallica reached that point a few years ago. Don't get me wrong they were pretty good before the haircuts. And I believe that was their only album in ten years.

S&M (Good album, interesting concept, and Metallica is one of 2 maybe 3 bands that could pull it off)

Garage Inc. (Good Album, mostly re-released stuff though. New stuff was ok, but it was all covers)

reLoad (talk about MTV sellout crap. I've got the album, but not one of my favorites to listen to)

Load (See description of reLoad)

Those all came out in the 10 years prior to St. Anger. SA was a return to their roots. Shortest song was 5:14 with most of them averaging in the 6-7 minute range. Sure they released radio cuts (which were crap) but at least the actual album wasn't geared toward getting on air.

Haircuts have nothing to do with good music. They changed and grew up. Their music evolved and actually got better (after getting worse with the load albums).

Okay you proved your point well and I really don't like arguing about bands cause everyone has there own taste and I respect that. I just can't stand when some Metallica fan starts to dawg on my bands cause I really don't like Metallica but I try to keep it to myself cause I know that band is respected by many.

i think you don't hear hardcore rock/metal around the park for the same reason you dont hear hardcore rap, most parents who are there with families (it is a family park) are not "hardcore" at all and probably would be a little put off by it. doesnt matter if it fits the theme of the ride or not. the techno, electronica, etc, is a good "middle of the road" background music...

oh and 80's metallica is the greatest, 90's was crap, i quit caring after that.

hey, I am a fan of Linkin Park as well, and if you remember they loved being able to tour with metallica two years ago. I enjoy Linkin Park but they are far from being heavy. Besides I respect many genres of music and listen to them as well. Love to stay and argue but I need to go get my tuxedo for the concert tonight at UT. (when you sing classical music in a foriegn language I will consider your opinion more valid never make an assumption of one's musical tastes based on one little avatar)

To answer the question, there's certain kind of music CP will play and not play. Hardcore rock doesn't mix well with their family type atmosphere.

I guess it was a good decision to go half way but at the same time I really don't consider Top Thrill Dragster or Millenium Force family rides. The only reason I bring the topic up is cause it works well with Rockin Rollercoaster and I can see it working well with those two coasters as well.(and believe me you don't get anymore family oriented then a Disney park)

No matter how big the coaster is, there will always be kids and families waiting in line for them.

I have Saint Anger around my neck

What the heck does that mean anyway?

Metallica sucks. They've been making the same album over and over for nearly 20 years now.

And think about the people that ride things. If it's not fairly neutral, you won't hear it.

I still prefer traditional carousel music the best for amusement parks. I can have that stuff stuck in my head for hours.

Sorry to hear that Adernaline, I liked it better when you talked about Metallica(not that much better though)

Sorry, I don't agree that Metallica sucks. The load and reload albums were stinkers, but they have put out more than enough excellent albums to make up for a couple that aren't so hot. Heck, Metallica inspired much of the music heard today and they are metal icons, trust me. No one can take that from them...ever! And, to suggest that the current album was made to make money...well, they have been making plenty of money for years now, why would they suddenly need money?

I agree that I personally would like to hear harder music in line, but the GP doesn't, so I put up with whatever they play.

As long as they remain scant on the rap and bubble gum pop (ie: backstreet boys) I could really care less if they don't play heavy music, I love many genres anyway.
