I have contemplated wearing my ipod shuffle on coasters before to give it a different vibe. It is pretty little and I think I could pull it off but never have done this.
I think music on a coaster could be great if you like the music but if you hate it it would suck. If it were the same song over and over and it wasn't a great song, it would suck and date the ride unless it was a classic song which never loses popularity.
I'm going out to get some air.
Riding with earphones only works on a few rides as the op's will be quick to tell you to take them off. You have to hide them.
Also riding with them on the Raptor and other rides where your head hits restraints can be a little more painful.

Stick them under your shirt until you're going up the first hill. That's how people get away with taking on ride photos and videos too.
Yeah, I love listening to my own music on coasters too. I have some clip-on type earphones that I use because my iPhone ones kept flying out of my ears. But I don't want to be forced to listen to some built in audio system with songs selected by CP. :)
TedFuzz. No longer manually signing posts. Too bad. =(
Cedar Point - America's Roller Coast!
Ron Paul 2008/2012!
Isn't Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit going to have computers before you board so you can pick your favorite song to listen to? I thought I heard that somewhere, but that would be pretty cool.
Let's Get Weird.
Dick Kinzel has always said that the rides are the theming. Cedar Point is an amusement park, not a theme park. I can see that in the future as he retires, things may change. I can see more creativity in the past few additions. Dragster, Maverick, Planet and Camp Snoopy. I think he may be letting the creative juices come to fruition more than he did in the past influenced by new blood. ie: Lance and others to whom I don't know their names so I can't credit them with creative accomplishments.
Blue people fly sideways when it rains
Letting the creative people loose for the Halloween stuff has yielded and unprecedented upgrade to the "feel" of the park, and not even Dick can deny that. There is value there.
