I saw on the online gift shop that CP has ride pins for many of its rides. Are there more available at the park?
I take it they don't do pin trading like at Disney? I was actually thinking of getting my daughter a lanyard (Peanuts?) and buying her pins for all the big bad rides she goes on--like badges of courage or something.
^I doubt they trade because the only pins Ive seen ride ops wear is the pin of the ride they are running.
Try the Pagoda gift shop at the midway section. I have been collecting roller coaster pins and they have the dates and year they were built on them, they are around 7 dollars each.
I buy one each time I conquor a new coaster :)
What I do is buy a lanyard and when I ride big coasters I get a picture via keychain, put all the keychains I got on the lanyard. But that gets expensive fast.
Cedar Point is undoubtedly amazing.
Expensive, but wicked cooler than pins...
How much are the end photos and do all the rides have them?
Our "home" park is Carowinds and they only have a dvd booth at AfterBurn and a photo booth at the flume ride (Thornberries). We got a dvd of my dd on AfterBurn since it was her first "real" coaster!!
Rides with photos - Magnum, Maverick, TTD, Millennium, Mean Streak.
Rides with DVD/Photo - Raptor, Woodstock Express.
I don't remember what the prices are exactly, but I think a picture was 12 bucks and a DVD 20, or something close to that.

Mantis takes pictures too. All 6 x 8's are $10, except for Maverick.($12)
But once you buy one, you'll get a coupon for $2 off your next one. And they'll give you another coupon even if you use one. So after your initial purchase, you won't have to pay the full $10 or $12. And if you use the coupon from the Getaway Guide, you'll never pay full price.
Cool to know about the coupons. I just got my Getaway Guide yesterday and saw the one coupon there. I was bummed that there was only one, but I didn't know about the coupons they give you when you purchase. That makes the photos about equal $$ to the bigger pins, I think.
Question on pics: Are the pics individual or of the entire row. Just wondering if we get a "family shot" (which would make it WAY worth it.)
It depends on the rides. On the 2 seat coasters (MF, Mean Streak, Magnum, Maverick, etc..) It is possible to get 4 people in a picture if all 4 people are in one car, and sometimes the ride photo people can actually adjust the pic to get everyone in. Mantis will take a picture of all 4 people in the row, so if you have 4 or less, that would work well (albeit a painful ride).
Raptor has the video system, so the on-ride picture is just a still from that video. That camera only captures 2 people at a time.
