Ride ownership

Correct me if I am wrong. But i thought that after a park buys a ride and the building process is over the park take full owner ship of the ride. I am asking because if tahts the case why are they listening to Intamin? or does Cedar point make a claws in the paper work about the ride manurfacter being resposible to a point on their rides?

There is a warrenty period (how long, I'm not sure, as it varies with each builder). If CP decides to make modifications not recommended by the manufacturer, then they become totally responsble for anything that happens to or on that ride. The concept is standard product liabilty law. It lets Intamin off the hook. So to cover their proverbial behind they do what Intamin says, besides the fact it's Ohio law.
Ok thanks

Why are they listening to Intamin? Because they'd be foolish not to. If the ride manufacturer makes a recommendation that the park disregards, and then something should happen, any competent lawyer would have a proverbial field day in court.

Any recommendations from the ride manufacturer must be followed in the State of Ohio for safety reasons.

I'm not sure if that applies only to vehicles and restraints or to the ride in general.

That applies to the complete ride unit, right down to the last bolt ,washer and nut. As I recall, under Ohio law, the state can order a ride shut down, and order a correction, but only the manufacturer can make the changes.

Magnum Jeff, honestly, finish first grade before you start to be flame people like good 'ol Jeff.

Anyways, back on subject: did Intamin request the removal of theming from the trains, or was that all Cedar Point?
